Title: What engine is modeled in the BF 109 G14 in AH
Post by: Ardy123 on January 05, 2010, 12:58:17 PM
The late war G14s had a blistering array of 'modifications' many of which were done 'in the field' so to speak. One of the more common changes was the use of different variants of the DB 605 engine, which one in modeled in AH?

Some of the DB605 engines I've read in different G14s
- DB605 AM 1800 PS with MW-50 (modeled as wep in game?)
- DB605 ASM same output of 1800 PS but with a larger super charger, makes a difference at higher alts.
- DB605 ASC 2000 PS with use of C3 fuel

any other engine configurations I missed please correct me on.

It's the DB605AM.

I'm guessing though that the power isn't quite up to the 1800ps figure (which is indeed listed widely in the literature), but closer to 1725ps or so.

wmaker is correct, though I'd still like to see a 109 with the above engine in AH.

Chalenge might like the "higher alt" aspect.

If the G10 can be replaced with a K4, I think the G14 can be replaced with a an A/S.

No need, reason or point replacing anything that has the art already done. There are plenty of people who like their G-14 the way it is, myself included. AS-subvariant could be added with fairly small changes.
