As you can see Tbar doesn't show up until one minute into the film and doesn't even try to join until you are already dead the first time. Then during the second fight he nor I even talk once the fight starts, so I don't see how he was helping me. You can also see that in both fights I never lost sight of you so I didn't need him to 'spot' for me. We agreed to a best out of five. As it stands its 2-0, and I look forward to the next ones if you decide to continue the duel.

for 1IH420,
You got killed off the merge both times, watch it again you can see his nose is already up when he passes you, yours is still in a dive.
Larry,
That first was alittle close but not bad, I would have taken it in MA but not in a duel. I like my enemies to know they got beat straight up :devil

No you have it all wrong junky. He got killed because Tbar was sitting in my lap telling me where he was. If it wasn't for that he would have flown circles around me. :rofl

Are you talking about the "HO"? If so watch it from his plane. His nose was pointed in my direction but he never had a shot.
-
Im not saying if it was a HO or not, all Im saying was I like my prey to suffer knowing I owned them :D
-
1IH420....
Sorry bud. Accept your defeats !
Watch and listen to the fights. TBARONE is tagging along. He doesn't even give advice(vox) on HOW or WHAT Larry should do in responce to your action/moves. (lol Larry doesn't need any help when fighting ! I had my shares of being defeated by him !)
As for "spotting", Larry has his own eyes and ONE opponent. No need for assistance for "spotting" ! If he had a 2 vs 1, your critic would be valid. ;)
Larry = 2
1IH420 = 0
Keep trying 1IH420.
Ya should SALUTE a good pilot when you meet one !

by shooting them down, you're telling them the same thing. You don't have to 'saddle up on their six' to 'own' them.
ack-ack

no you dont but I think he has it right, there are many close HO shots that I would not take in DA but absolutly will in MA, I also like to "saddle" someone that way they know without a doubt that the better stick killed them.

Nothing like standing in your seat with the canopy open to get the shot. :D

Ok I can't resist...does that ever happen?
:D :neener: :bolt:
And no, I'm not dueling you unless it's nerf guns at 100 yards.

why would you NOT duel him????
the only way to get better is to go against someone better.

I'm not feeling any desire to polish my cyber testes for hours by cyber dueling in toon planes as if it's going to change my life...I don't "live for the fight"...and puhleez don't tell me I'll learn more by dueling than I would jumping into the middle of multiple cons in the MA's with my 30 eny plane...far from the truth.

30 eny plane..... must be an easy one to fly. 30 eny usually means older bird.
You don't live for the fight..... do you play airport or something?

LOL another one that can't learn anything from dueling . :rofl As for the observer helping . They don't you don't need them to it is a 1v1 . Anyone with any experience can keep one guy in view . Someone of Larrys caliber ........not even close to being needed . Nothing wrong with gettin whipped it is going to happen . I try to get them to send me thier film and usually ask ok where did I Screw da pooch ? Have yet to meet anyone that won't tell me.

Not as easy as the Spixteen or Pony...both training wheels.
:rofl airport, nice...no my cyber testes just don't need to be acknowledged by any toonville pile-its because I beat one person or another...if dueling gives you wood, then have at it.
The best dogfight is the one you win with enough ammo and fuel to get into more dogfights before you get shot down or return to base.

Learn what? I don't see a single person posting here that cannot have his toon plane shot down...offer to teach me how to never get shot down in a dogfight and I might listen.
I have squad mates to duel with...and if I really want to learn something, I'll grab a trainer.

am i the ONLY one that has trouble in the spit 16? i flew the 5, 9, 14, and 16...and the 16 was the one i had the most trouble in.

Nothing to learn from guys like Batfinkv , Grizz , Skyrock , Shuffler ,Larry ? Trainers are great I have had sessions with most of them . Busy men though , with different schedules then mine . I have learned alot from guys that aren't trainers . Oh and btw I have learned alot from trainers before they were trainers , Delirium and Moot to be exact . Both spent a fair amount of time with me before joining the Trainers . I am still in the NOOB class "I" aint qualified to teach you anything .

I dunno Cap, I'm probably too much of a noob to see the Spixteen as being difficult to fly...it's a hell of a lot easier than the 190A8.
No offense Hlbly...but I just don't see how dueling is anything more than toon dogfighting with agreed upon rules...it's like someone telling me I'm not willing to learn anything because I don't want play his game by his rules...is dueling with you or anyone else going to teach me how to deal with 2 or more adversaries? What maneuver is it going to teach me to properly execute at every point in the fight? Am I going to learn how to second guess the person whose in front of me while checking behind me for another plane?
Ok, so we duel in our toon planes after we agree on some rules...you shoot me down...not because I don't know what to do but because I'm not real good at doing it...or because I over reacted...maybe a game glitch kicked in at the critical moment...what exactly am I going to learn? That somewhere between 30 seconds past the merge and 2 minutes into the fight I scissored instead of executing a hammerhead? So every time you duel the exact same situation arises...that's not dog fighting, it's dancing.
Tell me you're going to be in the cockpit with me and tell me everything to do through vox while I'm dog fighting someone else until I can do it without the coaching and that will be teaching me something.

Hurris have training wheels too.
You miss the point of dueling all together. Win, lose, or draw..... it is all about learning. Both shooter and shootee can learn something from a fight. When you learn from it... nobody loses. No chest thumping to it.
To help or be helped in developing a series of moves to help one come out on top is more than enough to make all involved winners.

Doesn't that sound a lot like working with someone (squadmate, buddy, someone that offers help) in the MA's? And wouldn't learning how to deal with multiple adversaries (like you find in the MA's) be more useful for dueling 1v1 than vice versa?

No... as stated in many of the prior posts.
Both have their place... but unless you can get out of your own way.... you ain't goin' to dance with twins.

Overall, yes it is going to help you. It allows you to be able to press your plane harder than you thought. This allows you to kill quicker or reverse from a bad situation. Also, it gives you confidence knowing that you are better than the other guys.
Flying into 10 mobs in the MA getting face shot by them teaches you nothing.

If you want to FIND OUT how much YOU DON"T KNOW the join one of "ardy123's" dualing sessions when there is an all star cast on board, such as Grizz, Kappa, SunsFan, and many others.
I'm not kidding.
You really want to know whats up come in the DA and join one of the sessions.
You will quickly find out how much you have to learn.

I haven't read every post here but I've been playing AW and AH since 1996. I thought I could do ok in the MA's and in a one-on-one. I've never had any training. I've learned everything I know by flying, fighting and either winning or dieing. During the dueling tournaments I've been beat quickly in the first round each time so I posted in the Help and Training forum for some dueling help.
I spent a couple of hours last night in the TA and DA with the Widowmakers and learned more in that time than I could have (or ever have) in months (years) of MA trial and error. In particular, I learned how I most often get beat by the better sticks in the game, both in the MA and the DA. I've seen the same scenario ("move") play out against me for years and could never quite figure out how to combat it. Admittedly I don't film or watch or study films. The game takes up enough time. But after a couple of hours with some good sticks in the DA I'm beginning to think I have a chance against the "move" that always got me.
So as "artificial" as dueling is it's a valuable tool and I'm sure what I learned will go a long way toward helping me in the MA. What I've seen happening to me in both places is the same. After years it only took a couple of hours in the DA to figure at least part of it out.

Gyrene Im sorry if I came off like I was in the middle of polishing my testes, but you have no clue about what some of us have had the pleasure of doing.

I knew you weren't Junky...I've run into you enough times in the MA's to know you're not usually that type of person...I just have to give you crap in the forums because you shoot me down so much... :neener:

Actually Agent, I already know. I make more than my share of mistakes on a continuous basis...but once in a while I get lucky.
Not dissin you guys for the "dueling fever" here fellas...if it adds to your AH experience and garners you some sort of great toonfighting skills, kudos to you...I gotta tell ya I have seen a couple of people that have posted on this discussion and others regarding dueling, who talk about "learning" something...yet seem to forget in the MA's unfavorable situations happen all the time...when they get shot down by someone who HO'd, BnZ'd, vulched, picked or otherwise...200 gets lit up with some sort of unnecessary squeaker like ignorance...and then the dueling challenges get tossed about...a general waste of time and effort...the MA's aren't dueling arenas, there are no dueling rules, no "fair fights", if you get vulched, picked, HO'd, BnZ'd, go right back up and try to change the outcome in the next encounter. Personally, if that kind of attitude is part of what happens when a person "learns something" from dueling...I'd rather be just another unskilled dweeb.
