Title: bushes, banana trees flipping a tank
Post by: c H e F on January 18, 2010, 01:02:25 AM
Suggestions, if you are willing to pay to play, and you get to experience the wonders of remarkable aircraft modeling and physics, the best in the industry I think, what is this:  when you get into a tank...only to touch a bush, a small almost weed at that, and then my tank, not even a humble jeep, spontaneously flips as if the weed had hidden hydraulic jack mines 3 feet in diameter set at 50,000 psi?  And banana trees? I could snap a banana tree almost in half just running & hitting it as if in football. I'd pay a dollar or 2 more per month to get better GV environmental physics.

Next.

If we are going to allow aircraft to interrupt an otherwise exclusively GV battle, then turn off the tank perk loss from the strafe/bomb tards. I can see when a base is being charged and needs to be defended but when it is obviously a recreational tank battle only? Its' like that headhunter add on TV when fans and the decrepit rush the tennis court during a match as if they can play better than the pros.

I say tanks should be able to trash medium trees, and leave them laying there for a while. Tanks should leave tracks in the sod too, you could follow a fleeing tank by his tracks, or run across tracks that lead to one hiding to ambush? We get to see elevated bomb craters, why not trees being smashed over? Loose the dust coming off the tracks while under way, that serves no purpose, if it comes that we need to swap out bit-loads to get something else of more value to the GV emersion.

I recommend that we be able to dismount the tanks and go scout. Yeah, you can be shot doing so.

And of course it would be great to be able to dismount, sneak up on a tank and drop a nade down its hatch or put a grease bomb on its tracks. If you had tanks that could have gunners/drivers (like bombers) this would be entirely different game…and funner’n hell.

How bout a map that changes the old stale way bases are taken. I mean its been a decade. Any new ideas out there? If you had small towns throughout the countryside, each needs to be taken and enemy either killed or driven out.

P-51 pilot James Carr steals a FW190 after being shot down. He thinks that his chances of escape are pretty good, better than years in prison. Why not have aircraft on the flight line to use and protect? If we can strafe ammo, barracks and fuel, why not change it so we can deplete aircraft a base has to provide rather than just the hangers? If you don’t get them up and use them then you can loose them. Sure you have to figure out early warning stations..and they should be manned as well. Make it harder more teamwork required.

How bout introducing operable submarines?  They only played a major part of WW2. If you have subs, then you supply them with the HE115 float plane, one of the finest float planes of all time. It still hold records and was far more capable than the PBY…but we should have the flying boat PBY too….remember “Strawberry 5” in the battle of Midway? That was one of the critical scouts allowing us to win that battle…the Japanese fleets found, all from radio location of the lumbering seaplane. Doing this…well, talk about advancing a multiplayer sim beyond anything at this time? I would imagine HT revenue would skyrocket, not to mention all the fun.

I know, its just a wish list and justa game too.

Why can't planes join in a GV battle? Planes attacked GVs in real life, why shouldn't they be able to now? Besides, what makes a recreation tank battle? Why can't it be a recreational tank and plane battle? You know, share the love instead of being racist against aircraft. ;)

edit: What you are asking for are arcade game-play tactics, while I am not.

sure, fine, that's arcade game-play tactics in tantrum with the best model physics...makes sense!  Fling the doors of the Kindercare  center wide open....just asking for a an "adult swim"?
