Title: Lag
Post by: dedalos on January 21, 2010, 10:01:53 AM
Does anyone see "extra" lag lately?   I mean more than the normal "net" lag?  Seems that it has been really bad for me when a lot of planes around but I had people asking me how did I shout them from that angle.  To mee that means they are seeing the lag too.

Just asking if you see an increase, no need to explain net lag  :lol

The answer is yes.  I have had some freezes and such too.  Just how many kills have you got shouting at the red guys? :rofl

A lot more than usual especially on TT. Perhaps that's why they are resetting all the arenas today. "For Maintenance".  :aok

It's more about his breath as opposed to the volume of his shouting ... :x

When ever there are major storm systems across the North American continent we start seeing internet quality issues that some players call lag or equate to rubber bullets each year about this time.

Unless you Gents are @od, you cannot account for every players internet quality by calling them cowards or sneering at them. This sounds like a bunch of guys who need a Dr. Phil moment. WoW Dr. Phil on Aces High delusinal derangment syndrome(AHDDS). This could make a Dr Phil Twitter moment..... OK, how many of you think being a hot stick in this cartoon makes you a hot stick in the real world? That will be Phil's first question for you guys. Dang, I could get him to lurk here for a few weeks then hold a whole show on AHDDS. Heck, I might get a commission and a finders fee. Lord knows Internet gaming addiction and related disfuction studies are all the rage now in the psychology journals.

You guys are a gold mine.........

I am just wondering if it is time for a new computer.  FPS is at 60 but I see things I never saw before (not as bad at list).  I get HOed from people I know they would not take that shot no matter what and when I ask they say that it looked fine in their end.  I know these guys for years so I know I can trust their answer.  Combined with people asking me how did pull that shot off (worst aim in game, and I could tell the guy was not trying to avoid, meaning he did not think I had guns on him),  planes flying through tracer streams with no hits etc, I have to believe something is up.  Nothing has changed with my set up but maybe the new version is too mach for my pc to handle.

I would not question it if it wasn't for the FPS death when oil damage in any plane around you and a mini warps when someone starts talking on vox (things that I did not see before).  If no one is seeing any of this then I need a new PC.  If it is common, I ll just wait for the patches.  That is the reason for the question.

My Internet connection has been more flakey of late - but that might just be local. If you suspect your system, back off some of the visual settings like AntiAliasing and distance and see if that clears it up.  Also make sure that you don't have new processes running that you didnt' before.

this might be preaching to the faithful but, a couple of players recomended " Game Booster " to me (free) and it dealt with a whole bunch of microsoft crapware. frame rate went up a little but the freezes went away. Overall i do not see a decrease in the smoothness of the game for the last couple of weeks.
