Thanks to new Toshiba netbook NB 205, just had first Skype video phone connection -- Virginny to Kaliforniyay.  Good pic, good audio, no extra cost -- what's not to like?

Anybody else doing Skype regularly? Any particular Aces High uses for Skype?

I use skype for calling England. It's cheap!

It does use quite a bit of processor though. I wouldn't want to use it whilst gaming on this particular rig.

Yep,
 I use it between our plants in Hanau Germany, Romas Mexico, Blythwood SC, and here in Port Huron. Works like a dream! Sure would like a conference where more than 2 people go video though.

 I havent used the video side of skype yet,but I've used skype for several years now.

 It's a good way to keep in touch with friends and family that are located far away.



 Ya I'm to cheap to pick up the phone...... :o

I use it all the time to talk to my kid in Iraq, works great :rock :rock

I don't use the video function, but do pretty much all my calls / messaging via skype to our field offices in Eastern Europe + Central Asia. I also used it for personal functions back in 2005 when it was pretty new and I was in New Zealand for 5 months.  It's a fantastic program.   :aok

Teaching me madre to use it (along with a headset/mic) was quite entertaining.

Used since beta. Wife calls overseas landlines. I use it through my iPhone via Fring.

My wife has been using Skype for years. She video conferences with her many international friends from Britain, France, Australia, Lebanon, Morocco and The Netherlands. She loves it.

Have used skype for years.

One of the possible AH uses is to use skype as a wingman channel.

Also handy for me to help work new squadmates through problems.
Getting them setup, hardware, software issues, etc.

yep its fantastic, I can call any land line in australia and it cost me 16 euros for three months. thats about a 1/4 of my old monthly telephone bill. The kids have prepaid mobiles and no one has whined about it yet.
