So many... people like me who put so much trust in all your lives, so concerned with what you think to just say what we feel inside. So many... people like me who walk on eggshells all day long, all i know is that all i want is to feel like im not stepped on. So many... things you say that make me feel you crossed the line, what goes up will surely fall and im counting down the time. and ive had so many... stand offs with you, its about as much as i can stand so im waiting till the upper hand is mine

Linkin Park is not rap, but a hard rock band. I like most of their old stuff, but their new stuff really dosn't appeal to me, but they make money off of it so they really don't care.
There is one verse from one song that I like the most. I don't even hear the whole song, just for the verse:

Please forgive my short fall for not catering to yours. Did I say they were a rap band...no. If you care to listen to the youtube clip posted above you'll hear the lyrics, I described as poetry, sung in a worthless rap fashion. A fashion to which I feel demeans the power of the lyrics.... "shame about that." As for them being a hard rock band... you could have fooled me.
To clarify further. I understand your opinion to the worth of the lyrics and the credence of a hard rock band may differ to mine.

Maybe it was, but now it's a band that appeals to the 12-year boys due to their massive market share. Similar in method to Nickelback, except that not all of Linkin Park's songs are really just one song with different lyrics every time.
P.S. I've heard that the release of DJ Hero is proof-of-concept used to convince higher-ups of the profitability of a Linkin Park Hero. ;)

AC/DC was a hard rock band...no hard rock band "raps" anything in their music. If anything Linkin Park falls under "alternative"...like if there is nothing else to listen to, it's an alternative.
