USAAF/US Army did not have no F4U-1 :headscratch: those should be US Marine bases/Navy Bases included with USAAF/US Army bases :D
and why not just offer the F4U-1 on the CV? put the F4U-1A on the Marine Base..... :aok
love the setup either way though.... much appreciated AvsA Staff :salute

From what I remember, P38J were making an appearance in August of 1943. By mid-44, I'm not certain you'd see any Gs still in service.
-
Del is right.
It would be P38J models. As much as I love the 38G, it was out of the game in the PTO at that time. J models started showing up late in 43 and were the main ride of the 38 guys until September-October 44 when the Ls took over.

The F4U-1As should be land based.
Th Corsair used on the USN CVs was the F4U-1D.
You could say the 1A CV is Royal Navy
Just saying... ;)

As a member of the Claim Jumpers we have been bringing 8-12 pilots each week. It is a blast! Keep up the good work. :aok

Eather way it sounds great and i can wait to get in there! :aok

Changes:
1. Will put F4U-1 on carrier and A on base
2. Will swap out P-38G for J

You mean F4U-1D on the CV and -1A on land base I'm guessing?
-
It would be nice to know what are the requirements for taking the 1 airfield are on the arena message

um the F4U-1D is already on the cv I thought? he just switched the F4U-1 and the F4U-1A from where they are located....

WTG shifty, you got us th -1 instead of the -1A on the CV :D

The F4U-1 never saw combat from the deck US Navy CV either. Not to mention by 1944 it's very doubtful any F4U-1s were being flown in front line service anywhere in the PTO. If so they were a very rare bird. The F4U-1A and 1D should be more than enough Corsair for the setup. Fork if your intent is to have three different CVs each with it's own unique fighter aircraft the FM-2 in place of the F4U-1 would be a more historic choice. In fact if you limited one CV to FM2s and TBMs you'd have a great representation of the US Navy CVE which served valiantly in 1944 such as the USS Gambier Bay CVE-73.
Not meaning to put a ding in your setup just offering a little historic info. I like the setup and appreciate your effort. :aok

No buddy I'm working very hard to get you downgraded to a Wildcat. :P

I'm requesting a transfer to the CV with the -1D :D

well doesn't matter...... I can use the F4U-1D , just as good as the F4U-1A or the F4U-1...........
come shoot me down if you think you can ........ muhahaha ( just joking )
edit: if you can't fight with the F4U-1 then you surely can't fight better with the F4U-1D or F4U-1A.....my view anyhows :D

Jebus. You're really missing the point.
-
not at all Shifty, Sir
the point is, the F4U-1 was not being used for the time frame...and the AvsA trys to be as realistic as possible.....
please don't let my little ribbing of others be taken as something it's not....... it is only meant for people to show up and fight, and if I am able to get online ( physically ) to hunt me down :D
sorry if it was taken the wrong way

No biggie. My point wasn't to give or take away any advantage. It just to offer a more historical structure.
-
Just stopping in to offer a :salute to all those that made the AVA tonight. I think a good time was had by the nine or so of us that were in there. I brought some of the squaddies along tonight and they had a blast.

I'd like to offer a big :salute to everyone involved with AvA, both players and staff.
Notice all the increased forum activity about the arena?
Just when it was about to be given up for dead, it has new life and I think that's awesome.

Every day I find at least 5-6 players. It's a lot of fun! :)

It was sure fun bacon8tr, first time I ever flew in that arena yesterday. But I sure will be flying in there again!
Had a great time, and got some really good fights against some very skilled hog pilots.. Even if I flew the KI84 myself, wich is not a plane I usually fly.
I am a sworn hogpilot myself.. :D
But it was a good experience to fly a few sorties in the Jap plane. :salute
