Yeah I read on a news web site yesterday that it looks like they are canceling the manned flight program for now at least, they needed an extra billion dollars in the budget to continue with the Aries rocket and Orion capsule and it looks like they wont get it, so there most likely gonna be using private rocket companies to ferry astronauts back & forth to the ISS, very unfortunate.

I do have a link.

1 billion more for Aries.  Different figure for actually moving people back and forth:

The panel also said a worthwhile manned space exploration program would require Obama to budget about $55 billion for human spaceflight over the next five years, some $11 billion more than he included in the 2011-2015 forecast he sent Congress last spring.

Yeah I think this will just about be the end of NASA, not to many people are interested in the space program as it is, and I think the Constellation program would have gotten people interested in it again because they were gonna be going back to the Moon to establish a permanent base there, plus after that we were gonna be headed to Mars, but not anymore, at least not for a long time.

Things like this are why I'm no longer in Aeronautical Engineering at Purdue.  Why specialize in a dead industry?

At this rate, China will be the first to build a moon base.

NASA has squawked about their budget for decades...it's just a cycle...if it's not one government agency it's another...if they were run like responsible businesses instead of off the backs of taxpayers, they would find they have plenty of money for worthwhile projects.
