Just a thought but when they eny cap gets really high and you can only up planes with 20 or greater eny value, how about the ability to still up planes with a perk value but with an extra fee?
Say the eny is at 23, so you can't up any 20 or less eny planes. An F4U-4 costs 60 perks to up but you can't take it because it has an eny value of 5 and eny cap is at 23. You just pay an extra fee (let's just say 100 perks) and you can now take the F4U-4 out for a spin. You still get all your perks back if you land, and if you die you not only loose the 60 perks for the plane, but an extra 100 to up it with eny in effect.

or maybe every plane over the limit gains a perk cost? I hate it when the ENY limit is +20 and i cant take my 109K4 out, I might pay a couple a perkies for the K4 if the G2/6 isnt what I want at the moment.
-
I think both ideas negate the whole concept of ENY...limiting access to the better/best planes when the balance is out of whack.

Until perks are reset every month, no cost will matter. Some of us have more than 40k perk points and have nothing to do with them. Assigning an extra 100 or 200 perks will make no difference...

+1, bad idea.

Nope.

Have fun in a non-perk, high ENY plane. It's a game, try something different every now and then...

Looks like this got shot down in flames pretty bad. Oh well, it was just a thought that occured to me :)
I'll just stick to my trusty Spitfire Mk I :D
-
It's a good thought. :aok But it would play against the ENY system.
I'd up in a 109-E or an A6M2, personally. :D

I like the idea of resetting perks, plus imagine the chaos on the last day. I would log on just to watch.

There's begining to be a number of 109F pilots these days across the 3 countries who are single handedly making the complaints about ENY a moot point.

I like 109?s. they're fun to kill :D.
I understand your pain about the eny. when I am forced to use a spit9 instead of my beloved spit8 I almost :cry :cry :cry.

Yeah exactly... The team that can't fly the low ENY planes gets owned constantly, no matter how many players they have.
-
Idk if this is the answer but i do agree something needs to be done about ENY.
But i'll stop now before i totaly hijack the thread :bolt:
-
No because if you really want to fly a f4u-4 so bad that you would pay 160 perks for it why don't you just switch to the other side?
-
What if the problem is a late night one, where for example Bish and Rook have 30 players each and they have a nice fight going between each other, and the knits have about 9 on with NO fights happening what so ever. Why would you want to switch to knits and sit in the tower waiting for a base to flash?
This happened to me the other night where I actually had to switch side because there were no fights for the knits. Lucky for me I'm a huge 109/190 pilot and was able to my G6 and G2 since they are 30 ENY, and when ENY drop under 25 I took out the 190A5.
In this event I would pay a couple of perks to up a K4 a few times.
-
I switch sides to find fights, not up a low-ENY plane. So I guess I can't sympathize with anyone who cries because of ENY. Allowing players to buy a perk ride, no matter the inflated cost, is (as has already been said) something that should never happen. If you think perk farming in empty arenas is bad now, just think if this idea was ever implemented.

So you're saying if bish and rook are fighting and knits are dead quite on both fronts (this is assuming you're a knit at the time), you will switch to either rook or bish even thou they both have 20 ENY.
I had to do this a couple nights again, knits had 262s for 50 perks and a perk bonus of 4.50. I would have had a ball racking in perks flying my 109 IF! there were other planes to actually shoot down. I ended up switching to bish because they had 18 and rooks had 21, they both ended up at ~22 with in 20 minutes.

Yep, but I might up for a short sortie just to see if anyone is willing to come over and "play". I don't fly low ENY planes much, so could care less what the ENY is, and rarely up anything perked. All I want to do is fly or GV and have some good fights.

In this case, take up something heavy (51,38) and go attack a base. That should get somebody up to fight with ya. Or get to the base closest to the fights that are going on, up a plane with good legs, and go pick a fight!

Great advice! It works almost all the time.
