Funny story...

I watched an Ak-47 get torture tested at one of those shoots, mag after mag fed through at full auto. Gun started to get hot so the shooter donned a pair of welding gloves and started to fire it again. Soon the barrel/hand guard is burning him through the gloves and the wood stock is charring. After laying another welding glove under the gun he resumes fire, at this point the barrel is cherry red. The gun is soldiering on, little to no effect on cyclic rate and no stoppages. After about a 1,000 rounds of full auto the gun finally jams, with its bolt seized. After using a 10lb lead hammer to free the bolt up they put another couple hundred rounds through it. Eventually the gun catches on fire, the guy throws it in a mud puddle and walks away. Five minutes later he again hammers the bolt free and finger waves the barrel to get major debris out. With sand, grit and grim still everywhere he loads it up and it still shoots.

How accurately is another matter, I am sure the barrel was loose after that beating....

Gained a lot of respect for Kalashnikov after that little experience!

Must cost atleast as much as a car.

Not really in some ways, the only part of the gun worth anything is the serial number and main body, the rest of the gun could be replaced for a few C notes.

The main body is very durable as well....

Edit:

Yes the gun probably cost 15k-20k but only if its a legal full auto AK-47. As far as damages from such abuse, I stand by my comments above.

The reason I emphasis legal is the abundance of cheap tricks and parts to make an AK go full auto.

But that is a 10 year trip to Leavenworth and $150,000.....

Try taking off the race tinted glasses then. Being less judgemental means being more open and objective.

go to the oklahoma full auto shoot, and tell me how many confederate flags you see, then count the number of black people.
guarantee you the answer to the second one is 0

I laugh at the people that consider the Confederate Flag a symbol of racism, while its true you can link the two they are separated by many other aspects.

I agree, take the race card and put it back up your sleeve....

That's interesting because I know more than a few non-white people who legally own NFA weapons and a host more who are enthusiasts.

I am saddened regardless of skin tone that after 5 days you felt the need to bump this thread with a post like that.

i have seen my number of mullets and confederate flags at the gun show. and confederate flags tie directly in with racism

Your first attack on the full auto shoot was based on a few mullets and confederate flags at a gun show?

In popular culture one would think.  There are valid meanings to display the Confederate flag that don't have racsim as its motivation however.

I do appreciate the irony of your BBS handle.

The irony of his handle, his attitude and him.

I personally don't much care for rap "music" but that's another post for another thread for another time.

Yea I kinda mis-worded that a little bit Golfer.

Should have read something like, "Although Golfer may appreciate the irony I don't..."

My mistake, I get what your saying though...

The "Confederate Flag" that you happily refer to is not actually the flag of the Confederacy.  It is INfact the Battle flag of the Confederacy, and it has nothing at all to do with Racism.  That is a misnomer, the Confederacy infact was not started because of slavery, it was started for States rights.  I am offended by the fact that the Race card was thrown out so quickly.  I for one saw nothing that even would remotely bring that up.  Just because I have a pony tail, a rifle, a few handguns, and enjoy shooting them, does not make me a racist, any more than the fact I wear Cowboy boots, Levis and my dog is on a chain.  This thread was not started to go where it went, I am sure that the OP meant only to show a few folks having fun.  I am from Texas, a southern state, I am the 8th generation of my family in this state.  I had kinfolk at the Alamo,(on the inside),and I have a lot of pride in that.  I had family that fought in the War of Northern Aggression.  That does not make me a racist, and I resent the implication.
All that said, Tupac all that you have done by stating what you did was in effect get this thread locked, I can see a lot getting see RULE 14 in the near future.  Probably myself included.

rap is noise, only slightly less irritating than the noise emitted by a fart can on a riced up honda.......

Is there, honestly, any noise worse then those annoying mufflers?  We have a few around here and I feel deaf after hearing it, it's annoying more in the fact they accelerate like there's a mass-murdering psycho on their tail.  The people with those must be the people in racing games who have the biggest, ugliest body-kits with 500 decals and terrible paint colors (Prefer "Sleeper" cars myself). :)

I fully agree with the Fart tubes on cars, the sound of a 327/350 with a good set of pipes, and a light cam sounds better any day.  My favorite is an 1830, or R2000, mabey and R2800 not at full throttle, but getting there.  A 755 Jacobs at idle sounds good too. Well there is always the Lyconing IO-720.
