This weeks episode I thought was alittle better IMO.  New characters and a starting of a plot.

Caprica - not bad, we'll see where this show goes.  Still love my BSG so I'm already partial to it.  Of course SyFy loves to put great shows on Friday nights and reserve their 'awesome' made for tv b movies on sundays or 9 hours of straight ghost shows.

I watched the premiere of Caprica. It had it's moments but definitely didn't get me excited like Galactica did. Looks more like a SyFy soap.

I wached the first two episodes of Sparticus and I'm hooked. I like the "300" style of storytelling, but I agree with morfiend, they need to dial back on the blood. It looks too cartoonish.

RPM,

You took the words right outta my mouth.... cartoonish!!!!

That said,I'll continue to watch and see how it evolves, always had a fasination with this time period. Also like I said the scenery was rather interesting, like when they introduced the galdiators.

Ya theose Romans sure had great plumbing..... :rofl :rofl :rofl

Spartacus......

episode 1 says it's written by high school kids with WAAAAAAAY too many romantic tendancies (I bet the lead writer goes for "long walks on the beach") and the CGI dept have never actually seen real blood.  The bit where he's explaining to his woman he's off to fight the foe....good grief, someone's seen 300 too many times.  And honestly, the bit where she gets dragged off....talk about over acted.  "NOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!". Reminded me of that bit in Austin Powers where the fella gets run over by the steamroller.

Not entirely sure if I'm going to watch the other half of the pilot, think I'm gonna have to be pretty bored.

Then you might wanna check out a new show on TruTV called Full Contact, it airs the Monday after the Superbowl, it's a behind the scenes look at NFL football games.

I only get 5 channels, and everything on them sucks.

I haven't watched TV for over 2 yrs now, don't miss it a bit.

I do get 4-5 Netflix movies a month and that's all I use my TV set for.

How do you know everything on your 5 channels sucks if you don't watch them?

Call blind faith.   ... or lack thereof in the creativity of network TV

It all sucked 2 yrs ago, I doubt it's changed.

The one exception I've found is The Office, on a tip from a friend I've watched a few episodes of it on Hulu, it's pretty good.  Does it still count as watching TV even though it's on my computer monitor?  I'd hate to break my streak on a technicality. :D

I used to watch PBS occasionally, still would, but receiving it is spotty at best where I live now.  If I had cable or a satellite dish I could maybe get into things like Discovery and the History channel, but I can't justify the cost for me.

I'm partial to Caprica right now, have to see where it goes.  My concern right now, given the BSG series and what I've seen of Carpica so far, is the entire show will be beating heavily on the "be nice to robots" drum/plot.  It's a good message, but a bit of a dead horse, especialy if they're gonna beat an entire new series out of it.

Lost is what I'm gearing up for now.  It's final season FINALY RETURNS (after making us wait, what? 9 months?) this week and the first episode is titled "LA X" (yes, with a space... it tickles the brain).  We last left off with the hot blonde chick going back in time with a few of the other major characters, falling down a hole to her sure-death, but surprise ends up barely living and nuking the island WITH A ROCK!...  how can you not love this show?

Just watched episode 3 of Spartacus. They have found a nice balance with the CGI in the battle scenes. The graphic novel style works very well with the storyline. This is evolving into a great series!

Lucy Lawless still is still smokin' hawt.
