Last night I flew a few sorties in a Yak-9T shooting only the big gun trying to hone my deflection shooting. I checked the film to see how close misses some of those shots were and stumbled into this strange phenomenon. I managed to shoot a P-51 from a near head-on position three or four times and during the incident didn't really see any hit blasts so I presumed I missed. However, looking at the film in slow speed I seemed to hit the P51 two times, first in wing and second in elevator/tailplane. Again in normal speed the hits are not happening but in slow speed on film they do.
Is this just a feature of the AHFilm or what can cause this?

Vsynch on or off?

only way to cross reference your evidence is to ask the p51 pilot if he had film of the engagement and then watch what his machine saw.
Internets lag.

VSync forced on IIRC but I'll check that.
I don't think P51 was actually hit at all. Of course it would turn curious if he noticed he had been hit, because in normal speed in my end the hits were not registered.
My point was that maybe the filmviewer handles the coordinates differently depending on the speed with which the game engine is running. That would mean that if you observe a hit in slow speed on film it is possible that in actual game situation it was actually handled as a very near miss.
