Hi
Mine:
Go flatten a vehicle depot - one sortie with 1000lb bombs, then go back with rockets, finish the job with cannons.
Pure enjoyment - diving, jinking, nursing e for the next pass - excellent.
Flying vs. the F4U (bearing in mind I am an 'unter' pilot ;-)) - still lots of fun - have to extend lots, nursing it through long curving turns, you can build speed very quickly in a dive, zoom and barrel roll and still be able to pull 'g' for a snap shot.
And if you get near their tail you can give them a *good* run for their money.
And if you're both low and down on 'e' the chances are you can extend better (my experience). At the last if you've nowhere else to go and and ho is all you've left then it's nice to know there's 4*20mm sitting primed and ready.
I've even taken one vs a nik, 205 and F4u and lived for long enough to pull loops, dives, spirals, zooms and fire a few bursts and have one heck of a lot of fun (before the inevitable). I found it more manouverable than it's been given credit, as long as you nurse 'e' like crazy. And you really need to start with a bit of alt. whether the con is above or not for that initial speed build - unless you've been quietly winding her speed up on a long level flight.
My take is she's a real challenge - and really rewarding.
Think: 'BnZ in a panzer on roller skates'.
What's that advertising slogan?
"Try it - you'll like it"
Q: How do you get up to 5000 feet in a Tiffie?
A: Start at A1 and dive ... ;-)
My 2 cents - what's yours?

I love that plane too. Massively underrated. I fear the day when it becomes the "plane of the week".
I like smashing vehicle depots with it also. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
It's also great in big furballs when you are outnumbered. If you keep it above 250 mph and below 15k, nothing can outaccelerate you. The only fear is a P-51, 190, or F4U diving from the heavens. Even then you've got a good chance to escape.

You guys are real optimistic, I find the Tiffie a true pig. Hit and run only, if you turn you burn. Any plane can beat any other plane 1 v 1, but in the Tiffie you are in the worst possible plane for a 1 v 1. Even 190's lick their chops when they see a Tiffie.
As a jabo it has great potential, but the Hog-C does it all better. Get rid of the UberHog and we might see more Tiffies.
I doubt it will ever be the plane of the week, the Spit IX owns that spot permanently.

I like the speed , speed , speed . (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Hey and eight rockets ain't bad either !

I've always loved the Typhoon for some bizarre reason - when I heard it was soon to be modelled I signed up virtually the next day (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Didn't have time to learn how to fly it until this tour, now it's just about all you'll see me in.
It's a lovely bird to fly, if butt ugly (though it makes up for it by being the basis for the radial-engined Tempest
(http://user.tninet.se/~ytm843e/mk23.jpg)
Ever seen such a beautiful creation? I still prefer the Typhoon though (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
The Typhoon appears to be unstoppable when it has a altitude and speed advantage as long as the enemy wants to survive (avoiding a HO in a Typhoon at the bottom of a dive is something I obviously need to work on). I find a gentle spiral dive is great for getting safe distance from other aircraft, and then you RUN! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
It seems a full cannon load can finish off a hangar, which has come in handy once or twice. Most important is to keep some altitude for doing your roadrunner impression when things get hot, (I cruise at 14-15k) and to watch the acceleration meter whenever pulling gs. Thing bleeds speed too damn fast... also, any climbing in combat is a big no-no, just watch the speed plummet as the big dumb thing tries to claw its way into the sky...
Oh, and keep an eye on that fuel gauge! Entire Italian air force ripped me to shreds after the engine gave up as I was taunting on channel 1 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) WEP raises fuel consumption to afterburner proportions...

Those stats are hilarious Skeet! I can't imagine how people can do that bad in such a fast plane. I'm guessing a lot of the "kills" of Typhoons by other planes are actually ack kills that were awarded to the nearest pilot.

I wouldn't recommend attacking a c205 from those stats. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Maybe Funked, but it may also just be the "new guy" factor.
Last couple of weeks, I have noticed a large influx of new names in the arena (and on the BBS here too for that matter). And when new people start, they'll try out each plane to find the one they like.
And like you said, the Tiffie is definitely an "experten" plane to fly in air to air mode and takes alot of patience and skill.
I have only seen a few that I have engaged with my Pony, but each time they go into a flat left hand turn and shortly die thereafter.

RAM, that's, er, beautiful man... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) can't she have plastic surgery for that nose of hers?

"But it totally dominates the dreaded c 47 "
rofl!
BTW, I think one reason for many of the new names ae due to the word going out AND when host
problems crop up in other sims folks are getting fed up and trying out AH as a replacement.
I say that's good. How else am I going to get my kills?? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
