Well, I've got my system just about configured on Newegg. I was really worried because after my Power Supply fried, I went and bought a cheapo. The 550 watts, should be fine. THe 12v Rail provides 28 amps, and will power my needs just fine.
Anyway found this on the net, and wanted to share it with anyone that may want to calc their needs.
heres the linky. Very nice tool.

I use that PSU calculator as a rough estimate when doing a system. Depending on the amps on the 12V rails and the GPU used is really one of the most important factors.
On a side note, I never go cheap on PSU's. You have to remember that that PSU provides electricity to ever component in your computer. I've seen too many el cheapos blow in the past taking a lot of the system with them. People didn't back up their digital camera photos and lost literally years of their memories. But this is a rant that requires a different thread.

Yeah I definitly will replace when I can, but right now I can't. I'm looking at a 750W, for the future.
As long as this lasts 2 years, Im set. But I plan on replacing the PSU, as soon as possible. My last system blew and wound up getting this to get back up and running, but cpu chip probable got fried. Hence the upgrade. I just finished it, and waiting for the tax refund to buy it. Sitting on a wishlist on Newegg. Im jonesing bad right now. It's been over a month now.

Easiest way? You find out the total wattage available on the +12V rail and divide that number by 12 to get the total combined amperage.
