I don't know when you will add the Spitfire F.MkXIV (I'm hoping in 1.06, but it doesn't matter for this request) but I assume that it will eventually be added.
When it is added, could it please have the same armament options as the Spitfire MkIX does right now. My sources all indicate that the first few to the first few hundred were armed with 2 Hispano MkII 20mm cannon and 4 .303 machine guns and all that followed were armed with 2 20mm cannon and 2 .50 machine guns.
I know that the 2 20s and 2 .50s are heavier firepower, but I much prefer the 2 20s and 4 .303s. To me that is the classic Spitfire armament and I always select it. I would select it even if it were on a perk plane, which I assume the Spitfire F.MkXIV will be, and cost more.
Natedog or Superfly, please be sure to clip about a foot off of the outside of each aerilon.
Kiitos in advance HTC. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

(http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif)EEEEEEEK!!!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif)
You closet P-51 lovers are trying to turn my beautiful Griffon Spitfire into a P-51D look alike.
Go fly P-51s and leave my precious Spitfire alone!
What we want are eliptical wings, high back and far east markings.
Please, for God's sake, not Canadian markings. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Make a bubble top, clipped wing Spitfire MkXVI in Canadian markings please.
BTW, what you a technically asking for is a Spitfire FR.MkXIVe. Those only have the 2 20mm and 2 .50 machine gun option.
I've been asking for a Spitfire F.MkXIV which only comes in high back form and has the variable armament options. I don't know if any F.MkXIVs had clipped wings.

No
I want a real Spit XIV. An E if you like although HTC is not too shy about bluring gun options on planes.
With all the goodies please including Bubble top.
And paint it in tribute to the 1000s of Canadians that fought and died in Spitfires starting in 1939 and ending well into the 1950s.
An Aussie MK VIII makes perfect sense to me.

U spit sissys i only want the spit 1A (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Pongo,
Don't you think a non-perk MkXVI would be better to do with a bubble canopy? I believe that they built far more bubble canopy MkXVIs than they did bubble canopy MkXIVs.
I was joking about objecting to the Canadian markings.
I personally would like to see the MkXIV in Ginger Lacey's far east markings, kill marks included and see a MkXVI in Canadian markings. A MkVIII in Australian markings sounds good to me. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Just gimme those clipped wings i dont give a hoot what other options we may or may not get (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I think a non perk MkXVI is an excellent idea(probably a lower perk value though). And I would be fine with any Spit in Canadian markings but I would like the XIV to have them.
-
National Variants of Spits:
Mk. I - Czech (313 Sqn)
Mk. II - Norwegian (331 or 332 Sqn)
LF Mk. XVI Bubble-top. - Dutch (322 Sqn) or Belgian (349 or 350 Sqn)
Mk. VIII - Australian (I dunno which Sqns)
Mk. XIV - Canadian (Several Sqns)
I think that covers everybody but the French and the Kiwis. Give the French some Yak-3's or P-63's. Kiwis are too busy enjoying their sheep to notice that they won't have a plane.
-
The F4u1a or the P40 would be good Kiwi planes.

Here is the Spitfire MkXIV that I want. This one sometimes has clipped wings, but I don't believe that 'Ginger' Lacey's actual Spit 14 had them. There are some nice shots of this Spit in the book "Spitfire: Flying Legend" as well.

Please, can we get this Spitfire MkXIV? We have Finnish and German ace's planes, lets get an RAF ace's plane.

Pongo,
Here's a thought. If HTC can give the Fw190A-8 and Fw190F-8 (which are practically the same aircraft) to the Luftwaffe fans then perhaps they could see fit to eventually give us RAF fans a Spitfire F.MkXIV in 'Ginger' Lacey's far east markings and a Spitfire FR.MkXIVe in a Canadian squadron's colours.
I'm still hoping for the Spitfire MkXIV to be in 'Ginger' Lacey's far east colours though.

Man, that Griffon engine **REALLY** Spoiled Spitfire looks (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

RAM,
I don't think so.
You said in another thread that you love Fw190s, but the ones you really like are the Fw190D-9s. To me the long nose spoiled the Fw190s looks.
I feel the same about Spitfires as you do about Fw190s, including my preference for the late war Griffon Spits (as long as they are high backed).
Unfortunately, I will only get to fly them a couple of times a year if prices fall out where they seem to be heading. You at least stand a chance of being able to fly the Fw190D-9 whenever you wish.

Summer'86, I remember as if it was yesterday...that was the first time I saw a picture of a Fw190, and it was a D9. The A series are beautiful, with an agressive look that never has been matched in other plane, IMO...but it can't be compared with the D9.
Fw190D9 is more stilish, but retains the agressive appearance of the 190...Man I love that plane (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
the SpitXIV ,with that new cowling...nah, I dont like it. Merlin spits look better, IMO.
