After a year of Aces High, I'm as addicted to this game as I was the first day I played. I need help I think, anyone else in this category? :headscratch:

Several thousand, welcome aboard! :aok

When you say rgr, after the drive thru lady asks. Do you want ketchup for your fries? Then it's to late for help! :t
Hey look on the brightside. You could be jerking it to some WOW character. :rofl

I've almost said that to my girlfriend a couple times on accident. Maybe having her on the phone kind of reminds me of my headphones or I'm actually playing the game and get confused who's telling me what to do. :x
-
When you are playing and talking on the phone and you keep squeezing the transmit key when you talk, sheesh.
-
Hi, my name is Mace and I'm an AHcoholic.
-
I say rgr all the time. . . but I make it look cool.

Bloke at work is called Roger Lol :old:

Addicted to Aces High?? I feel for you. I have learned to control it.... I'm not playing anymore...... ummm or any less. :D

Hello my name is GhostH and I'm trying to taper off.
Long time addict, the good news is I realized I was an addict in time to save my marriage.
-
It's no telling how many marriages are lost because of games and especially AH. I'm glad you done the right thing GH :salute. It's not caused any problems in my marriage which I'm very thankful for, but I do play way to much. Shuffler I'm glad some people can control it :aok
As I've gotten alot better at ACM and have became a decent dueler the 24/7 mindset of AH has went down but it still appears to be a drug addiction. I got a lot of work to do on the house this spring so maybe I can limit my playing time.
lol Mace u got that right
I've caught myself a few times before I said rgr out in public. It's quite hard to do, adapt to one language and then another :D
All in all I've enjoyed myself this year and meet some fantastic people on the game. I wouldn't change it for the world.
God Bless,
TnDep

I'm not hooked on AH. I'm not hooked on AH. I'm not hooked on AH. And I'm not in denial either. :devil
-
I've actually responded to my wife in conversation, "Copy that" and once while driving I said we were bingo fuel!
-
lol canacka

pffft whatever, I can quit AH whenever I want and I have a couple times....I just come back because I already have a joystick and a throttle and a computer and I think WWII planes are kind of neat and stuff, but I'm not addicted, at least I don't think I am :headscratch:

Friends don't let friends play Aces High.

You are only in the Beginning
-
i couldn't quit if i tried....and neither can you! AH owns you now...... :devil
-
I can't tell ya how many times I've quit this game.... btw.... who makes an indistructable headset??? Really... I need a new one.... :D
-
Lump me in the category of slipping up, and saying roger to someone in the real world.
Even more embarassing, is on the phone once I actually said "lol."
-
Quiting AH is the easiest thing in the world to do..........
I've done it a thousand times !
-
I had to put some restrictions on myself regarding this game, because it was almost starting to get out of hand at one point.. Its funny how you get more and more addicted as you get better and better at the game.. Its like an evil spiral. :devil
Luckily it has not gone on cost of my marriage, but when my laptop broke down a few months back we noticed some increase in family quality time..
So I took good time getting the laptop fixed, about 5months actually.. While I was prioritying my family instead.
Now I am back playing the game, but not as many daily hours as earlier. And not as focused on the game either, my wife gets my attention if she talks to me while playing now.. :aok
And the 5months away took most of my flying skill away also, so I've even reduced that evil spiral down to a minimum again. Since I am back as a rookie I die alot all the time, and that makes it easier to take a break from the game from time to time.
But ask me again in two months and my guess is I'm back to having abstinences every time I close my laptop from AH.. :D
-
But I remember how it was at the time I really played AH alot.. When I was out driving my car and saw another car getting close in my rear view mirror I actually wanted to pull the stick and loop ontop of him... :huh
-
I "check my six" when driving... scary :x
-
I use the bug spots on my windshield as a gun sight. :rofl
I saw cars in half in front of me. And I can always hit with the tater. :devil

Yep, I'm in there with ya. 3 years next month. I'm working my way to actually being able to quit (I don't play much, but I have "spells.") Come August/September, I probably won't be able to play much (maybe weekends or some odd off periods). College will be the death of AH for me. :(
-
Last summer I got myself a Mercedes, and I can't help myself thinking how that star on my hood look just like a gunsight with triple crosshairs.. :airplane:

I am lucky, where I worked we used radios to communicate and saying roger at the end of a sentence was a regular thing, nobody thought anything of it. Plus I am a pilot so again saying roger is no biggie. The irritating part is when you have to go back and make sure that you didn't put a "/" at the beginning of each sentence while typing and Email.
-
When u start imagining icon range markers on the cars on the road, you have an addiction. I'm Sidious & I'm an AHholic.

I'm glad I started this discussion it's quite hilarious, atleast now I know I'm not the only one :D
Grind I've bought several headsets even up to $50 dollars and they lasted a month at most, but I've had really good luck with this last one with no name brand I bought off ebay one sec I'll get the link.......
New Computer PC Laptop Headphone Headset W/ Microphone" from itrimming on 11/19/2009
itrimming may be the ebay id they go by not sure but almost 3 months in and it is still working and I think I paid less then $10 dollars for it too. Can't beat that with a stick.

after nearly a decade of quitting and getting sucked back in countless times I'd say i definitely need help.
-
You know I wonder Skuzzy looks at emails all the time and is around the game alot but I never see him online flying. Wonder what name he flys under because I'm sure he's addicted like us :lol

Worst thing Ive noticed, sometimes while driving, if really tired, my right thumb , (which clicks the tophat in flight to look behind) will twitch when I look in the rearview mirror, engaging the cruise controll  :old: elfy

-
maybe a psychologist is a good idea.
When I log into AH after work in the early am I often encounter some sort of time acceleration....one minute it's 5:00am and dark...then suddenly it's 9:00am and the sun is up :huh. To me only a few minutes have passed, but a lot of people got up, took a shower, and ate breakfast before heading of to work at "normal" hours :furious. I then quickly run to my bed for my daily 4 hour nap.
-
As far as skuzzy flying, its entirely plausible that he flies under a shade. But, a few years back I would see him flying around a bit.
Its worth mentioning that he has said several times that he isnt all that good in the game. I think he deals with the game enough while working, so when he gets free time he is likely not wanting to tool around with flying.
Thats just my speculation though.
-
My wife tells me you guys aren't real people....that I am so augered into this game that I just believe you are....she calls you my "pretend internet friends!!"!! lmao. Matrix anyone? Skuzzy and HiTech have created you for my 14.99 a month and its a government test by the psyops labs...apparently the test is showing positive results.

Been away from the game for a year or so, but when merging into traffic I'll still find myself thinking, "That guy looks close, but doesnt have the E..."

I am still struggling with this being a game...Are you sure? I mean everything seems so real! :x

Addiction? From AW to WB to AH. First a little Pot, then some Coke, now I'm mainlining China White.
I provide police motorcycles to the state of Arizona and had to explain after an email reply what "<S>" means at the end of one of them I sent.
As I was leaving work one day someone asked me what I was doing later....."Gunna kill a few people tonight" was the reply that made them back up a little from me.

Hi. My name is Fork and I'm a AHcoholic for the past 10 years...
I keep my addiction to a few hours each week. Wifeack is happy with my progress and hopes it stays that way. :D

Discovered AH right before I got married the first time. Was the hilite of that marriage but couldn't prevent it. Now I'm happily married and AH doesn't interfere with it. My wife goes to bed early so I can fly everynight. I say 'copy' to her all the time, she even asks if I copy.
