Buy an Analog Stick (http://cgi.ebay.com/CH-Products-F-16-Fighter-Stick-Serial-Port-Version_W0QQitemZ180467772675QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Joysticks_Game_Controllers?hash=item2a04b7ad03) from Ebay. They are cheap, and the buttons are all the same.

You can try calling CH and asking for a RMA to send in your stick then suggest that since you can fix it yourself, could they just send you the part you need.

I had the exact same problem & this is what I did.

you can by the hat switch here...

You will also need a solder sucker to remove the solder from the board that the dead switch is attached to.

Lastly when you install the hat, you will need to do a modification such that the 4-way hat becomes an 8-way hat

1) Unscrew the plastic hat from the back of the switch.
2) the Hat thing will have a long stem that is about an inch in length. Wrap some scotch tape around the stem, about two wraps, is enough, but test.
3) Screw the hat thing back in, and have fun!

I've got a bunch of the tactile switches for when I modded my Fighterstick. Guessing that's the problem with yours. Shoot me a pm and I'll mail you several.
