Ive got a cougar HOTAS sitting on my desk. I love the thing, I think its next duty shall be a monument to greatness. :)
Good luck with the auction.
;)
Edit: And it works fine with Win7.

Well, thats possible I suppose. But it definately wont be a monument to YOUR greatness. :) :neener
If you ever want/need another let me know, I sure wont be using it. :)

I absolutly love my cougar, upgraded it to all HE sensors.
I guess if you spent years and years playing with soft plastic garbage adorned with more neon lights than a gay rave club, a cougar feels very very strange... oh well.

I love my modded TM Cougar with hall sensors........ :rock
Works like a charm, can't wait to get one of the new ones with force feedback...
Good luck with the auction..

I love the heavy spring of my Cougar. Weak points on mine are loads of center play and have been through 2 hat switches.

Works like a charm,
what does it cost to install those "Hall Sensors" on a TM COUGAR HOTAS system?
did you do it yourself? or did you have to send it off?
Heya oboe, you posted:

I guess you are saying there is no way to adjust that out of it? or is there a fix to this problem, possibly?

its just how its designed, its not a flaw so much as a "difference" you can mod it out, but like the rest of the stick its something you get used to.

The ones from Cubpilot run upwards of $50 but he has them already wired up and ready for installation with a step by step guide to do it. I did it to my RCS pedals and that was about $100 but the things were over 10 years old and needed a complete rebuild. It was the best $100 I ever spent on pedals. Currently have them sitting here waiting on the dollars to redo the gimbals...which I will cover in a second.

Software wise you can adjust the dead band a lot but that doesn't fix the fit one bit. There are a variety of methods out there to either completely replace the gimbals with stuff from a guy down in Australia (goes by IJ if Frugalsworld was back up). Other than that there are several other modifications that you can do to either bandage the issue with the play or eliminate it altogether and the cost of them goes from super cheap to several hundred dollars. IJ's mod is expensive but worth it.

I do believe there is an after market mod for this, but it is lots of $$. I did the Hall Effect mod to my TM Elite rudders, and that was around $80 IIRC.

No wonder you fly so well Kaz...you are a dainty man in a world of brute force application types like Wingnutt and I.

CH makes top of the line gear and I have recommended it to many people. I prefer my modded Cougar.

That setup brought good money for being 8 years old ...... Think of all the hours of enjoyment you got out of them .....and 150 bucks in return after selling them 8)
