Wow, just wow, at the first and third post.

To give some reasoning as to why ship engines cannot be damaged:

Task groups in this game are map objects, not player-operated vehicles like planes and ground vehicles. The task force unit moves all at once; there is no programming currently that would allow, say, one of the DD's to deviate from the rest of the pack. If we have engine damage, that would mean we would need the capability for one ship to fall behind the rest of the pack. There is not that capability, currently.

you CAN take out a PT boat 3 engines.... so whats the question... how about you form a complete question...

maybe we don't allow the CV to stop moving to to the fact its relatively easy to kill it allready.

Or the fact that you can't use a mass  of 100lbs bombs to crater up a runway stoping anyone from taking off with hangers still up.

Or why the troops don't have Antitank guns for defence.

If he had spelled defense wrong in all caps, this would have been my all time favourite squeaker post.

:salute m8
I think it's a little unnecessary as the carrier motor vessel will stop after being hit. It is clear that in reality, the boats would have stopped after having been so damaged that the engines stopped, but we must not forget that this is not reality. We just have to bombard the carrier vessel, until it sinks. It is my opinion, it does not necessarily mean that I decide that this was a good or bad idea. It was just my opinion.

Take care <S>
