Title: drone going backwards
Post by: caldera on February 18, 2010, 08:12:12 AM
When the engines fired, one of my B-26 drones chickened out.  It even gets airborne flying backwards.

This was LWO yesterday afternoon.  Watch in external mode and look behind you.  :lol

I have had that happen on some airfields where my Lancaster Drone flew back away from me as soon as I hit the runway and blew up.

It happened again twice yesterday.  Again B-26 but at SMPizza, A-23 SW runway.  B-26 were launched from another field and worked fine.
Other buffs launched SW from A-23 worked fine.

As Dana Carvey (doing Johhny Carson) would say, "This is really weird wild stuff."  :headscratch:

after watching it in f3 and looking backwards, using the arrows to follow the lost drone it actually does a 180 and flies away from the rest at about 10-11 seconds in to the film

I have seen this quite a few times.  Although I have no data, I reason it as a specific launch direction problem.

At A23, as you say, SW does it but I bet NE doesn't.

(It's been going on for years)
