Title: Looking for someone who has a 9800 GT video and E8400 Wolfdale processor
Post by: 4deck on February 19, 2010, 07:32:57 AM
Just finished my build and am extremely happy with purchase.

heres the specs.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13826486

I really like newegg shopping, first I was able to get all the specs, and pictures to measure room
for heatsinks. I have nice big copper ones. But basically
Heres what my system temps are so far running everything on high. No overclock (yet).
All temps are in C
Idle Mobo-35c /CPU - 27c /GPU - 37c

in Game all settings turned on. Self shadow 2048
Mobo - 38c /CPU 45c /GPU 52c

These numbers are super low under load. I went with a Giga-byte benchmarker, and tried a third party for temps and speed/load.
All these numbers were basically 2-3 degrees apart, so I took the mean between both. Anyway, I can't believe these numbers.
If anyone also info on these numbers, or another monitoring software package let me know. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but if these are true, Im estactic.

Thanks guys, see you in game.

E8400 and 8800GTS KO here.

The Wolfdales are very "cool" processors.   Use OCCT or Realtemp, I find Speedfan to be highly inaccurate and full of bugs.

I dont have an 8400 but your idle temp of 27 c is right there with my AMD Phenom 550  on water (25c idle  37c load)   lol   I'm overclocked (3.1Ghz to 3.85Ghz)   but still ..... thats a cool cpu for air cooling , no wonder the overclock so well .
