Put them around the perimeters of the fields to make it harded for a emeny GV to roll onto a base. That'd cut down on alot of runway and hanger camping. Allow the ability to blow the mines up with ords and/or gunfire. What do you guys think?

Sorry I'm here to play against other people. Just randomly blowing up doesn't sound like much fun. Of course we could go all out and start adding random engine and weapons failure to the flight portion of the game.

Would you put the mines in specified areas or just litter the perimeter with them? I only ask b/c they would hinder folks who want to drive from the base area to meet the enemy in the field. Mines being an equal opportunity killer and all....
But a definate +1 if it could be worked out. :salute

I would entusiastically support mine fields as opposed to them fields. But then again I am very selfish.

I was thinking about around Vbases. The way it is now, you only have to take out 2 auto acks to be able to pull right up to the VH door. Not much work or spended ammo in that.some simple danger minefields signs would take the randomness out of it. Then we would need mine clearing equipment.
I don't support adding more equipment. I'm thinking a 100lb egg could take out 10 or 15 mines in a given radius. Or the use of something as small a turet gun could clear them 1 at a time.

In my opinion, GV'ing is too riddled with "random dying" in the first place. 90% of the times I am killed in a GV, a shot whizzes out of nowhere and I never saw the guy. It's such a point and click endeavour that it's almost enough to make me stay out of GV's for good (almost). Any further "random deaths" from tripping a mine, and I really don't think I'd ever bother with GV's again. Big -1 to this idea.

I thought those green things that look like blades of grass were the minefields? dunno how many tanks it takes out in a day but Im sure the number is staggering.
theyre even hidden in the hedgerows with prox fuses......... get within 100 yards of a shrub and your tank flips

I think I have actually seen a Mine layer before(I think it was at Cape Henlopen where they watch for german subs entering Delaware bay)

Well sense were talking mines, why not have it so we can deploy mine fields in the water to keep Enemy CV's from parking off shore? it would really suck to steer your CV group into a mine field lol

Pros of this: When you are that poor guy going up against the horde of GVs intent on camping the runways/hangars. It will make them think twice and give them something to worry about when they want easy kills.
Cons: What do you really think people are gonna end up doing with these? Picture this scenario: Your that poor guy trying to defend against the horde now you have to worry if THEY laid mines around the spawn/hangars or town they are trying to take.
In the end, you are just appeasing those guys that avoid combat.

Mines being laid anywhere......Might be a bit annoying if enema's can lay mines not only around your base but ON the runways. :eek:

edit.... I seem to remember a WWII air mission being contemplated to drop caltrops (star like / triangle thingies) onto enemy airfields to puncture the tires of landing/taking off planes. That is until someone pointed out : If you're already over the field why don't you just drop bombs!! :rofl

Getting killed by field ack is a random event...getting killed by puffy ack is an even bigger random event...mines would be a good idea, say big enough to kill a Jeep and track a tank...on the other hand, ditching your plane near the field could be a problem.

However, adding a Sherman Crab with flail would be really, really fun for other purposes. Imagine how much you could annoy squaddies or spawn-camping teammates with that thing whipping away at their silent, hiding, ambush-ready tiger. :lol
Also I'm sure you could make some awesome special events with it. 1 Jeep, 20 Crab Shermans, and an enclosed space. Winner is whomever can stay alive longest in the jeep. :aok

If they could be shelled or bombed down with gates for friendly gvs to enter/exit, no, I'd be up for that!

Only reason I would want this is after I take out his gun & track him I can turn that on & pound his GV until he can't take the sound of it & towers out.

I say it's a good idea, but if you want to add mine fields, then HTC better add infantry mode for the 10th time I've suggested. It makes no sense to have them if there isn't any infantry involved.
