This one wasn't listed, but I find the radar a neet option and something new for the game.
F6F-5N for hunting enemy cv's
Another variant in use by both US Navy and Marines squadrons was the F6f-5N Night fighter. This aircraft was equipped with the AN/APS-6 radar. The most externally discernible feature of this variant was the radar pod which was attached to the tip of the right wing. Armament of the F6f-5N comprised four 0.5 inch Browning machine guns with 400 rounds each, and two Hispano 20 mm cannon with 220 rounds each.

Gosh, this is really hard.... [edit]most of [/edit]those planes are badly needed... and one of them I want for clear personal reasons. Anyway, I think there's some big gap in the current planeset even for country well represented, one in particular, that screams for vengeance, so (given that my personal favourite is doing good by itself), I'll vote for
He-111 (it really amazes me that it's never been added in all these years!)
Second one is really more difficult, japanese and russians would both need G4M2 and Pe-2 for the same reasons, and we'd need ki-43, too..... being more of a fighter guy and having already voted for a bomber, I'd say

G.55
(http://www.stormomagazine.com/AviationArt/G55.jpg)
The Germans had a fly-off and were going to scrap the 109 for it for crying out loud. It beat the 190, 109, C202 and C205 in the Luftwaffe tests. The 109 won out because it was easier to produce... 5,000 man hours per air frame versus 12,000....and Germany needed quantity at that time, so they put the orders on hold.
3 20's and 2 50's internal. :airplane:

I voted. Questions. (1) Will this vote actually result in these vehicles being created? (2) Is this a matter of reasoning or subjective preference? I ask because I could argue the case for some rides and against others. Is that better done elsewhere (in another thread)?
-
No you cannot vote again :P
If this were to result in the winner actually being created, HiTech would conduct the poll themselves like they have in the past at the log in screen. This more or less gives the community an idea of what aircraft are most wanted. It is also a way for me to test a theory I have on these polls.

I think HTC has some kind of issue regarding the He-111, it's probably been one of the most requested planes to be added, and it never has.
-
Well, I have it on good authority (had to say to somebody who will remain nameless "Aggies Rule, Horns Drool") that the next four WWII releases will be:
MiG-3
A-26
He-111
SM.79
However, the order is dependent on which ones get their FMs working properly AND have skins first.

1) Beaufighter Mk 21
The Australian-made DAP Beaufighter. Changes included Hercules CVII engines, four 20 mm cannon in the nose, four Browning .50 in (12.7 mm) in the wings and the capacity to carry eight 5 in (130 mm) High-Velocity Aircraft Rockets (HVAR), two 250 lb (110 kg) bombs, two 500 lb (230 kg) bombs and one Mk 13 torpedo.
2) Me 410-with the ability to have various loadouts-guns, cannons, torps, etc
Me 410 A-1 light bomber.
Me 410 A-2 heavy fighter dual 30 mm (1.18 in) MK 103 cannon pack. The Me 410A featured a bomb bay for carrying air-to-ground ordnance or for the installation of additional air-to-air weaponry or other equipment.
U2 two 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon with 250 rpg for the heavy fighter use,
U4 used the 50 mm (2 in) Bordkanone series weapon, the BK-5 cannon with 21 rounds, to turn the aircraft into a dedicated bomber destroyer. The BK 5 cannon - derived from the Panzer III tank's main armament, the 50 mm (2 in) KwK 39 L/60 - allowed the Me 410s to shoot at their targets from over 914 m (1,000 yd), a distance at which the bombers' defensive armament was useless.
The Me 410B-series was largely the same as the A-series, but replaced the 7.92 mm (.312 in) MG 17 with 13 mm (.51 in) MG 131 machine gun. The originally planned 1,900 hp (1,400 kW) DB 603G engine was cancelled in early 1944, so all Me 410Bs used DB 603A or DB 603AA engines. The DB 603G would have increased the maximum speed to 630 km/h (392 mph), and cruising speed to 595 km/h (370 mph), although the weights increased once again. The versions were the same as with the A-series, the Me 410 B-1, and Me 410 B-3 filling the same roles as the earlier A-1, and A-3 versions.
The Me 410 B-5 added shackles under the fuselage to carry a torpedo,

Well, you've raised the issue of revisionism...
One question: where's the damn tail swastika on the German rides? I want accuracy, not people-pleasing. Or am I just failing to see?
-
P-51H
The P-51H used the new V-1650-9 engine, a version of the Merlin that included Simmons automatic supercharger boost control with water injection, allowing War Emergency Power as high as 2,218 hp (1,500 kW). Differences between the P-51D included lengthening the fuselage and increasing the height of the tailfin, which greatly reduced the tendency to yaw. The canopy resembled the P-51D style, over a somewhat raised pilot's position. Service access to the guns and ammunition was also improved. With the new airframe several hundred pounds lighter, the extra power and a more streamlined radiator, the P-51H was among the fastest propeller fighters ever, able to reach 487 mph (784 km/h or Mach 0.74) at 25,000 ft (7,600 m).

If by 'people pleasing', you mean 'allowing German players to play by law'...
-
If by 'people pleasing', you mean 'allowing German players to play by law'...
Yes, good point... it is illegal to display it there. Thanks. I thought I might be missing something.
Now, to my mind, such a law is a bit silly but it covers the AH rationale nicely. I'm no holocaust denier - it's just that, to me, such a law is more of a piece with the holocaust than allowing a display of aforementioned hated symbol.
