Title: What do you listen too when fighting in AH?

My mic recently broke, and thus saying stupid jokes over squad chann is not really an option when fighting, as such I've gotten back to listening to music as I play, what do you guys listen to when your preparing to slaughter the 'red guy'?

Most other sounds are kept very low, too, so nothing is too loud in routine situations. But I have a few things set to REALLY be heard when I have emergencies like bullets slamming into my beloved P38, or wind noise and fuselage stresses, etc. I love the way my heart leaps right out of my chest sometimes, with the dynamic violence of the simulated experience. When carefully optimized, AH sounds can significantly increase sensory input to the pilot, increasing competitiveness and situation awareness. For me and my fun, I don't want any background music interfering with that. Sound is a tactical weapon, just as useful as flaps or view zooming, etc. I don't want to waste it....

Just my way of thinkin'

Bad music irritates me, good music captures my attention too much. I can either go with the flow of the music, or the flow of the combat. I do hear stuff like Voivod, Slayer, pre-86 Priest or Coroner between my sorties to get in fighting mood.
But sometimes, when heading towards the enmy at high altitudes in my TA 152, I play some Bach, very old Genesis stuff (like Fifth of Forth or Duchess), Ella Fitzgerald, or Klaus Schulze (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vtE7--vetE)

I have the genetic trait that requires some sort of participation in the music, be it dancing, head bobbing, singing along, or tapping along, all of which interfere with not dying while in the air. That said, I've got a bit of Ratatat, Approaching Nirvana (http://www.youtube.com/user/ApproachingNirvana), Daft Punk, or Breathe Carolina going on in the background. The Ventures are pretty good too, especially when GVing.

I boot up Winamp and have it low enough that I can just make out the melody or chord progression over the engine. Otherwise it blocks stuff out and it makes it more difficult to fly.

I just enqueued all of the Beatles albums from Let it Be back and am ready to log in for the first time in weeks...

i have playlists that i chose depending on what my mood is :)

I'd get all contemplative and lose focus while watching the scenery, then I'd die.

lol Redd you own rights to that album that is quite ridiculous and totally uncalled for. I agree with Grizz he needs to go.

What are you insinuating, that one should smack talk them back?? My personal opinion is that fighting fire with fire is no solution to this non-sense it only puts you in the same category as them. People like this should be banned from the game forever. Obviously Draggon knew that Redd wasn't a kid but even so no one has the right to dog curse someone like that calling anyone a "chicken Sh** Moth** ******" ect. ect. :pray Open the gates of hell and let Draggon in Amen

Draggon is a mentally disturbed individual. And i say that without trying to be funny. The guy seriously needs help and medications. It is one thing to smack talk on 200. but, its another when you PM vox someone with language like that. And i agree. HT should ban that POS in my honest opinion. But im not HT so it is what it is.

Not at all. I'm saying what most have witnessed on Green is that Draggon's behavior is acceptable (hence tolerated) within his Squad and quite a number of Knights.

I agree with the Banning forever. Trust me Tn, we think alike.

rgr I miss understood what you meant by the weak tolerating it. A few people like him make the game ridiculous and by all means AH don't want to get a reputation like this from just a few players. They need to hold a strong front against this type of behavior. I don't care if one apologizes or doesn't the offense was committed and your gone bottom line.

lol, I may have, I don't remember. lol

My point was that he blocked the range channel with his rants which, ironically prevented others from receiving check 6s on range (i guess you could use the 'check 6 key' but that requires me to look away from the screen and take my hands off the stick).
