Yesterday was just fine, now, no 'z' in BOTH current late war arenas.
All the other keys on the keyboard work fine in game, on or off line. [e-engine] [g-gear] work fine f,b q,w,~ - all fine.
Preferences/map controllers (or keys) recognizes the 'z' key press. The game sees it in mapping, but not in-game.
I left the arena and returned.
I left Aces High and returned.
I rebooted computer and returned.
I uninstalled Aces and reloaded.
Oh, and..the same in mode 1 or 2.
Oh, and I tried re-assigning the key and controller.
Don't even, I checked caps lock.
Oh, so now I re-assigned the zoom toggle to a different key, and, it still no workee.
Same old.

And just for the heck of it, did you try using your bracket keys? I don't remember if it is [ ] or if it is { } but one of the two adjusts how MUCH zoom there is. If you have the zoom adjusted all the way out, it is the same as not being zoomed at all.
Press Z
Press ] several times (or } I Can't remember as mine are mapped to my j/s)
if nothing Press Z again
And press ] (or }) several times again.

Okay; solved.
But it's a sad solution.
Yesterday in game I assigned move view up/down and left/right to the x and y axis of my CH throttle.
It worked beautifully in game..you could lean your head in any direction and see just that little bit more.
But somehow, starting the game fresh today...it killed the zoom function.
Had to remove that beautiful assignment.
So there.

If it happened when you had a .map file loaded and the problem went away after you deleted and stopped using the .map file, that is usually a good indicator that the .map file you were using was improperly programmed.

I had set up the mini joystick on the throttle to move my head around like that. The only problem I had was getting the view to center again. That half second "flicking" a view key got me killed too often ( loose sight, loose fight) that I turned it back on. If was cool when I had it tho.

Most likely when you were programming the view keys, you repeated one. I'll see if I can dig up my old template that I used to use before my mini-stick died and upload it somewhere.
