Post by: Treize69 on March 01, 2010, 08:39:51 PM
A Fokker D.VII with and original Mercedes engine. Several other clips by the same authors as well.

It's great in the sense that it gives us a good idea of the way the aircraft sounds, but the audio is of too low a quality for any of us to make proper use of it, I'm afraid.

Though I'm sure I can find some good recordings of a Spandau *somewhere*. As for the rotary engines, I can't say. I'll probably have to fly to Holland and record them myself, like the author of those videos suggested to another viewer. :P

Here are some of my collection of the Fokker D.VII:

Start-up:   Fokker D.VII startup  (http://www.arabian-knights.org/files/Dogg/FokkerD.VII/start-up.wav)  <---11 meg

Run-up:   Fokker D.VII run-up  (http://www.arabian-knights.org/files/Dogg/FokkerD.VII/run-up.wav) <---14 meg

Fly-by:   Fokker D.VII fly-by  (http://www.arabian-knights.org/files/Dogg/FokkerD.VII/d.VIIFly-by.wav)  <--only 1.4 meg

I also have the Sopwith Cammel and a few others they haven't decided to model yet.  Working on getting the Fokker Dr.I

These are high quality in stereo.  This is a real Fokker VII inline 6cyl, 200hp mercedes engine.

BTW other sound makers, feel free to use if u like.  I don't mind others using my collection.  The more the merier.
