Title: Joystick has no spring tention in game
Post by: Nr_RaVeN on March 04, 2010, 04:23:29 PM
One of the sticks on one of my computers is is a Microsoft  forcefeedback 2 Im running it on win xp pro... never any problems before...  Recently in game it lost all tention and just flops around everything works ruder ect its just has no feedback or spring tention...
Out of game it is fine. nice and firm. To solve this I need to exit the sim and re enter some times 2-3 times, for it to come back to the normal spring tention. Any idea what is causing this issue? i have calibrated both in windows first as well as in game.
Thanks In advance
RaVe

Assuming it is connected to the USB bus, it is possible the ID is being reset due to power draw off the USB bus.

Try another USB port, or an externally powered USB hub.

Yes its USb In an external powered hub.

I had move it to another port trying to remedy the situation that got me to the point were if I left the sim and returned it would work eventually.
Before that it would not resolve

Do you think I need a new powered hub this one is 5 years old , is there somewear else i should look?
Thanks Rave

Raven I don't know if this might help but how large is your power supply?? A friend of mine had the same problem till he upped his power supply. Another thing is don't use multiple items off the same USB hub. If you have a usb port that stands alone try using that.

For example I have 8 usb ports on the back of my comp and 2 on the front. I use the ones on the back for accesories and use the ones off the front solely for my joystick.

I don't know its just a suggestion.
