Title: Panzerblitz!
Post by: Jochen on February 14, 2001, 03:56:00 AM
Any guesses about 190F-8 having a Panzerblitz rockets?

I think they will be in in some form, afterall P-47D-25 has option (I think) for basically six Bazooka tubes fitted in bomb racks. Earliest 190F-8 models could be equipped with similar arrangement of 8 Panzerschreck tubes and I have seen pictures of them in use. Funkster has posted drawings of it in this board earlier.

Later development was Panzerblitz 1 and 2 which were launchrails for 12 or 16 modified R4M rockets. This would be very effective antitank system! Apparently Panzerblitz equipped F-8's racked quite number of kills during last few months of war agaisnt soviets, I can post some numbers later.

German antitank rockets differ from allied rockets in size and range, they were smaller and intented to kill vehicles only unlike allied rockets which were multi purpose projectiles. German rockets were also shorter ranged. In arena F-8's rockets would be useful for killing vehicles and ack but nothing more since they have little punch agaisnt heavier structures.

So, any guesses what antitank rockets F-8 will have, if any?

I would love to see a tank buster on here. I'm always disappointed when I open up on a tank with an FW and get minimal results.

Everybody knows the Aston Martin DB7 kicks bellybutton big style.

But currently I'm saving up for a Seat Leon 20 valve 1.8 Turbo.

0-60 in 7.7 secs at a nice price too!

Nice car Verm - how's it handle? I've always been under the impression American sportcars are wallowy and over-powered.

But god, if you don't pull the birds in that thing, there's no hope for you!!!!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

My man, if you think "over-powered" is a bad thing, there is something wrong with you!   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

BIG misconception !!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I tend to hear that from Japanese and European sportscar enthusiast, but I figure its just horsepower envy  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Just about any Corvette has great handling, especially if you have a good set of tires and shocks on it. It has a very low center of gravity, nice front to rear weight ratio (not as good in the big blocks like mine), and is long enough to be stable without hurting cornering ability.

Plus mine has autocross style after market anti-sway bars on front and rear, carbon fiber leaf springs, variable setting shocks, close ratio M21 transmission (original), and what I think is a 3.7 rear end (also original), and some other goodies. Of course I have all the original parts still sitting in my garage.

And FOUR HUNDRED Horsepower Baby.... can you say that?  Of course you can  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Kidding of course. OH and yah its a definite attention getter, with plenty of good looking women "volunteering" to take a ride in it  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

It would be nice to get the Panzerblitz 2 and have a choice of warheads. Make an anti-tank run, land, switch warheads, make an anti-buff run with some R4Ms. Some cluster munitions for the F8 would be nice too, but I don't think we'll ever see them.
