OK, in real life, an AP round either punched through the armor, or left a big dent in it, and then bounced off. In the game, we have damage that can accumulate from hits that didn't kill your tank. I guess you could argue that getting hit by a tungsten pointed projectile flying at 1300fps from 2000 yds out will damage your armor, but it wouldn't accumulate like it does (it would make it easier for the next round to penetrate I guess, but your tank wouldn't up and explode from 57 37mm AP rounds hitting the front.
I want it changed so that your gun will still "damage" your target if its a reasonable hit, and that all it does is lower your armor value, "hardness", or whatever the hell you want to call it, by say 5% (or whatever a reasonable number is, I don't know the details of how things work here) of its normal level. I serisouly doubt that an M8 could kill a tiger (or even an M4) from the front or sides before its barrel rusted off. Maybe from the back at point blank range or something given enough time and ammo, but not from the front.

Actually, I've always wondered about this....

haven't you noticed that a tiger can be killed by a T-34 from the front, provided some panzers have been hammering away at it for a while?
But if I'm wrong on how the GV's take damage, then can someone please tell me, so we can see if it within the realm of realism or not? I really don't want to play a game where the GV's have some armor and then some "health" under that, and when the armor pool "runs out" damage from hits start being subtracted away from your "health pool".

I had a panzer one shot my tigers front armore
<-----pissed at that

Are you sure it wasn't a lucky shot that arced PERFECTLY and just BARELY hit the top of your turret instead of the front? I've done that before in a T-34/76. The large drop of the round is great for such shots.

On one hand your saying shots shouldn't damage a tiger like this then on the other hand your saying you have done this and it is just a good shot.
Make up your mind.

No, the top of a tigers turret is just about its weakest spot (as far as armor goes) A 75mm AP round to the top will kill it. Hell, a 75mm HE round would do it, provided it doesn't bounce off. Read whats on the page fugitive, I said damage shouldn't accumulate like it does. A damn lucky hit doesn't fall anywhere NEAR that catagory. Remember, the T-34 has a 76mm cannon, not a 37mm cannon.
As we have it now, an M8 can kill a tiger give enough time (maybe a few hours, I just don't know) (as far as I'm aware), when it really would have taken days, or couldn't have happened at all. My bet is that the shell wouldn't have carried enough mass to damage the armor.
No offense, but did your REALLY not understand, or were you just trying to make me sound like an idiot?
