I'm taking a good hit on Frame rate's in there,I'm not working with the best system but its fine in all the other arenas,so sad. :(
-
yeah, I normally run between 30-40 in the WW2 MAs, but WW1 I was barely getting 4 :huh
-
I have a low frame rate, but as soon as I get off the ground it's ok...
-
I did some teasting offline, the ground makes FR's go down bad,the other planes are a little hard on frame rates, but the ground and bi planes together are killing me.
-
I turned off all the water detail and it went back to 59 fr.
-

same exact thing here, poor FR till i get the wheels off the ground, then its great.
-

Na that's not helping me...its beyond turning water detail off.
-
Same issue here- as soon as I'm wheels up, it's fine. I've never run detailed water- it's not that.

last time you degfragged?

Its not defrag or virus scan, or disk clean,as i said other arenas are fine.

lol,I know, sorry if i came of rude, just wanted to skip a lot of questions about what i have checked.ty, :D
-
I get 75 in the air, i get 1 about every 3 seconds on the ground.
-
Mine are fine on the ground... for some reason when in the air I see streaks fly past me often and folks hollering chk 6. Just wierd!!
-
Yeah, those new "Airfields" are a frame rate killer, and I can't figure out why. I hope they rebuild them soon.

ATI 5870
Frame rates drop to 15-20 on the ground, once lifted off stays locked on 60

Ok, something goofy going on here. We need to see DXDIAG outputs.
Gixer, I have a lowly 4850 ATI card and on the ground I am getting over 90FPS, once in the air, I peg at 120FPS and it never drops below 100 after that.
-
Skuzzy, it looks like many others have the same problems:

<snip>
I posted my DxDiag in the thread mentioned in Reply 17 right after yours. Is that OK or do you want it here also?
As mentioned in that thread, If I spawn and just wait until after takeoff frame rate does come up. I was able to get a F.1 Camel in the air.

Skuzzy,
Updated to v10.2 drivers from Guru3D previously was v8. something. Now its locked at 60fps everywhere taking off or in 20 plane furballs with 1024 textures enabled.
Overall settings are one notch down from max.

I'm getting the same fps hit on the ground as others...also have scrambled gauges in some of the aircraft. BTW Sunka, I don't seem to have the option to play WWI offline...what am I doing wrong there?

Some of the video cards I have noticed have no business running with "Detailed Terrain" enabled. NVidia 7600's (I have that card in my office system), 6600's should not have "Detailed Terrain" enabled at all.
This is not to say there is not something we need to take a look at. I see a frame drop as well even though my frame rate is staying high enough that it does not matter to me, it is dropping when on the ground.
-
1st try seemed fine.
Loved the P-51 in the hanger!!
Tried another another arena and as soon as I appeared on the runway the game froze.
I tried it several times, same result.
I had sound, I could see other guys flying around, but all stick and keyboard controls were dead.
Not sure what happened as the 1st try worked fine with pretty good fr.
-
So far, I havent been able to get off the ground. I'll try turning ground details off. I have no issues in the ww2 arenas (bit laggy, lower frame rate than norm since i have an older pc..but definitely playable).
I'm fine in the tower looking at the field..no problems int he hangers etc. But when I select a runway, my pro gets about a quarter turn and I hear some engine noise...then my pc locks up. After a few minutes I get the lost host connection drop or it just stays hard locked until I manually exit from AH on my desktop.
I'll give turning the texture details off tonight a try. I'm already running on bottomed out settings for speed and I've reduced my res down to the 900/600something (cant remember specifically). Runs fine in the ww2 arenas but I cant even get it off the ground in ww1.
-
In WW2 Arenas, my FR rarely drops below 60 (generally only when encountering mega buff missions)
In WW arena, my FR is dropping to 35-50 in furballls with relatively few planes around.
When taking off or landing, my FR is ~7-16 depending on number of other planes around.
Tried to roll into a "hangar", system almost came to a halt (FR shown as 0)
Switching off terrain & water detail, and/ or bump mapping had no noticeable effect.

I've got the frames problem too.
Will post a diag later.
But, getting 60-80 in the DA, 0-30 in WW1.
Love WW1 though.
-
Yeah, I get FR of 20-60 in all arenas depending on the crowd. In WWI once I get airborne FR of 20-60. But near the fields, Frame rate drops to ZERO. Cant land anything.
Dont see any anomalies in the graphics in flight. Appears just like all other arenas. I have all the settings Down to minimum or Off. I have the latest drivers for my Card, Nvidia 7600. Yeah Ground Detail is off too, as well as shadows and all the other FOO FOO stuff.
Will keep checking in looking for advice from HT.
Later,
KayBay

Skuzzy, it looks like many others have the same problems:
I feel better now. Got the 0 frame rate, engine wouldn't start, nada. Rebooted the computer, same thing. Haven't had a chance to try Soda's AvA WWI setup though, may get a chance tonite.

WOOHOO awesome :rock :salute

Works perfect now! :aok

Jumped into the DA for a framerate check. Admittedly, I have an older, weaker computer. Kinda like me.
Wow. After this patch I'm getting 100-120 in the DA without changing sliders from max performance. I was getting 40-60 with sliders maxxed for performance.
Not nearly as fast in WW1; I get the 40-60 I used to get in the DA. I still get some slow frames on startup in WW1 but away from bases, I'm doing 40-60.
Much improved. I think there's still something kinky around the bases though. Why would it not be the same as the DA?
<edit> Just tried an empty WW1 arena for comparison. Without the other planes around, I'm getting the 100-120 frames on takeoff and even 140s flying around.
So it's not just the fields for me. Or maybe it never was the fields. Maybe it's all the other aircraft. What would make WW1 aircraft different from the WW2 ones in the DA?
<edit2>
In more populated arenas, furballs of 15-20 planes drop the frames to 25-35/ So, the planes are probably what's kllling me on this computer.

Yep its much better then it was ,i find all that is affecting FR's for my poor 5 year old laptop is the other planes

What he said.
Patch fixed it for me. Thanks!
