Didn't you just have "serious handeling problems" with the WWII aircraft too?

Maybe fly longer than your 2 weeks first?

They all fly just fine.  When taking off in the Brisfit just make sure to have some back stick pressure so as to keep the prop from hitting the ground.  I don't know which other aircraft you are having problems with.

What karnak said.

Whats more autopilot and autoclimb work, as long as you have some speed first.

You come here here saying the planes have serious issues when all afternoon and night yesterday the WWI Arena's were full, or close to it. And then you expect us to take you seriously?

LOL

How am I supposed to say anything worth saying while I'm looking at Spike's avatar?  :rock

If its going to be a DA-style arena, then bombers are not worth much.

With 4 WWI arenas open, I do see the possibility of an early, mid, and late-war setup similar to what we have now...

Which means there's all sorts of room for additional aircraft provided it goes as well as HTC hopes.

So...(I've stopped watching Spike's avatar)... I'd be thrilled to see an Albatross D.Va, Fokker E.III, Nieuport 11,17, 28, SPADs, Sieman Shuckert D.IV, Pfalz, Pups, SE.5a, hell, even a DH.1 would fun.

The thing about WWI aircraft, there were so many types, and may were outdated before they reached the front! The D.VII and Dr.I seem to be the aircraft of choice so far, so chances are, if we see new WWI planes, they'll be along the lines of SPADs, Albatross, etc.

Donning my kevlar, heading for cover.

The only handling issue is the pilot doesn't know how to take off.  Learn how to take off without augering before you come in and post about how there are 'handling issues' with the new planes.

Basic tip for not crashing on take off...make sure you have enough speed to take off.  Now that I got you started on the basics, go to the TA and ask a trainer to teach you how to take off.

Can't handle... Come on man! Your plane is a woman, man-handle her and she might just comply. As for Zeppelins, you should get into a habit of reading.

the dr1 I can fly. the f2b always nosedives. hence why I hardly saw anyone flying it
Title: Re: more ww1 planes
Post by: Beefcake on March 11, 2010, 06:15:17 PM
The F2B only has a single 303 facing forward where as the rest have dual machine guns. Secondly it's the biggest of all the planes and is basically our "bomber" for the current WWI planeset. This is the main reason why it wasn't seen as much last night.

I flew the plane alot and never had a problem taking off or landing, it does sound like either you're doing something wrong or you might have a stuck key thats causing you to crash. The F2B's landing gear will fail on the ground after about 80mph so make sure you lift off before then.

Also Kingcobra it sounds like you're new around here. Just to help you out, it takes a few months to develop a plane for introduction into the game, it doesn't happen overnight. These aircraft we have now are the first of the next generation damage system for Aces High. Give HTC time and I'm sure they will add more aircraft, however, be thankful for what you have. For alot of us old timers this update has breathed alot of new life into the game.

Eindecker!

The Eindecker didn't have ailerons, it turned using wing warping <bending the wingtips>.
Try to image the whining coming from the "It must be a bug" crowd  :uhoh

The reason you hardly saw anyone flying it is because your 2-week trial is up. There were plenty of people flying the F2B, ranging from buddies pairing up to people who know the history and try to fly it for fun. The reasons why it was flown less include the upper wing in dives (it makes a terrifying splintering sound above 140, especially when turning) and that it is a Big Honkin' Plane. It turns well with speed though, and has more firing time than what most people know what to do with.
