Title: 38 damage model has been fixed...
Post by: batdog on October 12, 2001, 06:42:00 AM
it seems. 3 days of flying it alot and I havent seen my buttocks fluttering away yet. I've taken some good hits too and kept in the air. Its showing some good durablity now it seems  :). The flight model as far as compression seems different as well when the dive flaps are deployed. It doesnt seem to shake as bad at alt.... maybe flying the 205 and jug's alot has changed my perspective on my old love but it seems alot better...

 It still wont turn w/a niki for long nor a spit... but when would it ever?

DONT PISS ON MY MELLON PATCH!!! Damn...your bringing me down man!  :p

 "there you go again morati with those negative vibes"

 Wonder why I've taken some good pings then and kept on flying? This includes from my 6. I was flying the other night and I swore I saw tracers going through my "tail" hole between the booms and elevator. The planereally does seem tougher. (just agree w/me and make me feel better)

tail and wings are still shed just like before. The engines are taking more damage now, I see OIL damage now instead of insta-engine loss.

It does FEEL like its taking more hits xbat, but if you pay attention, those hits result in engine damage. 38's engines take half the span of each wing, the 38 is basically a big wing with 2 tails. Most of the times you hit a 38 them bullets land on the wings. Since the engines are basically taking 50-70% of the hits now and not dying instantly as before... it sure feels like it takes more hits before it dies.

But you still lose flaps, aleirons, wingtips and tails to 1-4 .50 cal hits  :(

And thus, another call for

 * Better *
 * Improved *
 * Revised *

 * Damahe Modelling * !

 ..

 Give us the "damaged and performance dropped, but still flyable" phase before the "forgit it, this elevator's toast" phase!

Ahh but that leads to the next logical conclusion.....

Maybe the whole problem in the first place is psychosomatic (ie, it's all in your head).
