I am tired of getting dumped via a Session Switch...
I can't trace it because it locks me out and forces me to do a hard re-boot....
This is the only WAN program that does this to me....
This is the only program on my system that routinely forces me to hard boot...
Frustrating beyond belief....

It is only doing it due to packet loss on the Internet connection. Running a PingPlot as soon as possible after a dump might help reveal where the packet loss is occuring.
Are you on a wireless connection? If so, that is probably the culprit.
The lockup you are describing sounds like Windows not being able to satisfy a network request and putting the game on pause. It can take a minute or two before Windows will finally give up and return control back to the game.

Hard wire connection...and what you describe is exactly what happens...the game locks up...not even the mouse works...sometimes it resolves itself...other times I just hit the hard reset...it has the irritating habit of doing this after climbing to 20k and flying 4 sectors while calibrating to drop...
:rofl
I guess the game has no way to time out a request...and cancel and regain control on its own...because if it did all heck would break out...

Once a network request goes to Windows, the game is at its mercy.
