Title: Western Digital RMA goodness
Post by: 38ruk on March 12, 2010, 01:53:05 PM
Hey all ,  I just had to RMA my 4and 1/2 year old WD raptor 36gig ( 5 year warranty) after it developed a couple bad clusters. I paid 120 bucks for it back in 2005 and has been a great drive .   So today I get the replacement and its a 150 gb VelociRaptor ! Talk about customer service .  Needless to say I am very happy with the upgrade . Anyways ....just thought i would share a good experience ..... I will continue to buy WD for years to come.

Keep backing up your personal files. I'm not sure if it's your particular type, yet I know a lot of people have had issues with a certain type of WD velociraptor hard-drive.

150GB Raptors were prone to failure in RAID config's.   I've yet to hear of any of the Veloci-Raptor's having issues.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't sure how, yet I knew those velociraptors were considered unreliable in a certain configuration.
