Dweeby why? Was there some reason why a landed plane could not fire it's tail gun?

Did someone get killed by an f2wirble? :D

getting tired off some ppl's tactics in the f2b,   then to top it off i'm rtb with a pilot wound when i fly over a guy sitting in some trees taking pot shots at me,

I had to fly all the way around to the front of his plane so he couldn't shoot even then he had a chance,

the red tag is basically not there so yes this is a whine but I hope to remove gamey play from the WW1 arena!

If some guys ditched or landed in ww1 i very much doubt they sat in the gunner position waiting to shoot at enemy planes

let it go man. I think its clever to use an F2b like that. I mean if i could i would use a bomber in the WW2 arena like that when the base is being straifed by huge numbers of nme fighters.

LOL.  I am sorry Bruv but I have to say no to this request.  I would have just pounced on that F2 and gave him some of what he was asking for. :aok

Mind you I respect Bruv and would in no way categorize him as pathetic.  I still think that he would just give him a helping of some that FEW justice.

Cool we can park a circle of ack-wagons around a spot near where the field ack huggers are orbiting.  We'd have our own safe zone to run to!

Gonna say no (and HT even said he did this on purpose so I don't see it being changed).  I say 'no', because not all of us use it to be dweeby.  If I'm being chased by 5 cons when I'm wounded (such as a wing missing, or engine out) and I manage to land it safely on the ground....I want revenge on those hording dweebs....which is worse really, 5v1 or 1 person in a tail gunner on the ground?  If your wish is to disable the gunner on the ground, my wish is to make any planes that jump my wounded rtb plane in gangs of 5-8 to explode when they get within 800yards. :D
Heck I almost never use the gunner, only times I really do are: When PWed and blacked out and when I just lost vital parts and am now stuck on the ground....if the person is stupid enough to stick around before I have a chance to bail, heck ya I'm gonna shoot his little German plane. :P

Question, on a more serious note:
I've never actually seen it used in the ways some describe (landing, killing, re-upping to land kills), so is it really that hard to see/avoid a single .303 firing?  I'm curious since I crashed to the edge of a little furball going on and was spotted immediately by Klingan at a range of over 1K away (outside effective gun range).

The times I have used the F2Whirble include:
-6 on 1, their favor.
-Attacking vulchers who attempt it, and the ack didn't kill those D. VII's for some reason.
-For fun!

After all, a plane sitting on the ground is very easy to kill, especially with the easy flamings of planes. I fly the F2B for its versatility, speed, and maneuverability. The rear gun is an added bonus.

Those BristolWribles are easy to defeat. I just orbit above them and strafe them with my tail gun.  :D

oh i killed him alright  but took a few attempts thanks to my pilot dozing off.

is there a reason why in the MA and any other arena for that matter gunners are turned off ON THE GROUND?

ok so it is one measly machine gun but my argument still stands.  No-one in their right mind would land their F2B in a field and sit there in the gun position shooting at enemy fighters

perhaps he ditched, lost his engine, was forced to land?

There are times when I'll ditch and use the gun after suffering a fuel leak or to much battle damage. But rarely get any kills doing that. Usually I'm just an easy kill.

I just tried to do the F2b tail gun on the ground, and I don't see why there are complaints. The gun barely raises above the tree tops, only a fool would low level strafe him.

Uhm, maybe because we have a base capture mechanism in MA and ackstars used to park near map room (or even just on the rwy before we had map rooms). There is no base capture or any form of ground attack in WW1 so far so I really don't see a problem with grounded F2s shooting their rear gun.

yes, bombers would launch, and ack star incoming fighters without ever leaving the ground.

However, there is a big difference between a B17 (or a dozen b17's) sitting on the runway shooting at anything that moves with their multiple .50's and a single .30 cal gunner in a F2b.

Since airfield vulching is a non issue anyway, all you are left with is the occasional F2b who lands/ditch's and mans gun for a few minutes. Not even in the same class as far as effecting gameplay. Not even close.

Yes if your close the icon may be hard to pick out, but its there.  Shouldn't take even 1 guy long to finish off a non moving target.
