Since getting a new machine about a week ago I'vwe been getting screen freezes, where the screen turns to a color, not the same each time, and the system is locked, have to hard powerdown to get off.
Dell Studio XPS 8100, Intel i7, 4 gig mem, Radeon 5770.
Any ideas?
Thx,
Dashe

Had the same happen for the first time last night in WW1... never had this happen in any arena before.

This also occurs occasionally on my system since July while playing online. The computer freezes then CtDT and screen resolution appears to drop to 640 X 480.
An error message states that graphics is stuck in an infinite loop, then needs to be rebooted. Events log reports this. Dxdiag reports no issues, and have not had any such issues running other applications.

I see you have overclocked the CPU, what about the memory? Try returning it back to stock and see of the problems go away.

G-skill memory is DDR2~1066, and I have set that as target speed in BIOS.

The error you are describing is usually memory related.
