:headscratch: ...it's missing a giant spool with CAT6 line to keep your comp connected so you can fly while you fish...

fly fishing has a brand new meaning...nice present and have fun on the water!

Don't know about your AO but 2 strokes are soon to be illegal to sell here in Commmiefornia. Yeah even chain saws, and weed eaters.

my friend here in town sells merc said 40etec has more horse power than 4s 50 merc based on hp to wieght. and no oil changes no winteizeing as etec does it automatic.  etc  very quiet engine. and insant start.

like another friend said when u see old engines on old boats still running most are eveinrudes or johnson's. I have a 1972 bass boat in garage and the 65 johnson runs like new.  reminds me i have to sell her.

You know, the more I think about it, the more it does seem like old Johnson outboards are indestructible.

My father has a 10 hp Johnson he uses on a lake near here (10 hp limit) that he has had since 1964 (or 1965, can't remember)

Besides normal seasonal stuff (winterizing/new plug every year) the only thing we had to do was rebuild the carb once.

Thing purrs like a kitten.

Nice wife Rod (the boat's pretty cool, too)   :aok

1995 SmokerCraft King Troller...best fishing boat I have ever owned. Also pulls the grandkids in a tube quite nicely.

Enjoy....and good luck trying to top that one!!!

Had a 1976 Fiberform 16 footer matching 1976 Evinrude 85Hp, had the boat sense 78 and just finally gave it to a friend of mine, the motor you can touch the key and it fires right over, and you could Idle(troll) all day and that motor never missed a beat, Johnson and eveinrudes are one of the most dependable outboards you can ever get, that 40 4stroke you have your going to love it, great motors

My wife and I are fond of my Johnson.  It is well loved and taken care of.  The trick is frequent use and keeping them well lubed up.

i THINK 35MPH ENOUGH WERE NO TON PRO TOUR OR NEED TO SHOW OFF. Our bayliner has twin 454's and i pay more in gas in a weekend then most make in a week. twin 454's 205 gal tank  25-32 gals per hr at 4 dollars hr goes fast. we lease out boat on contract . use when not leased out. Mackinaw island hoping.
