Saw this over at fark. 56K warrning. You case doesn't like second hand smoke.

Quite smoking just over three years ago. Built my current gaming rig with the money I saved the first year.

I clean mine out once every 3 months whether it needs it or not...I've seen worse come from people who didn't smoke.
It's still a good warning for the lazy people though.

Yep. That's what my old Dell looked like when I opened it up to do a little work on it. It had run without me really cleaning it for 6-7 years and I smoke (too much) while I'm playing.
Cleaned it all up. Still runs just fine. Mostly the dust bunnies just trap the smoke and it looks gross. Even if you didn't smoke the dust bunnies would still be there.

I've found that pets will clog up a computer 100X faster than smoke will.
I usually clean mind out about once a year.. it's usually a PITA because it would get so bad.
Wife left me 15 months ago and took the dogs with her. I quit smoking almost a year ago. A few months ago I had mine apart for it's annual cleaning and I have to say... it was a waste of time.. it looked pretty derned good!

LOL tigger let's see u gave up smoking the wife left ya..and took the dog. Sorry bout ya loss..but I'm sure you miss the dog too.
So what's next?? You guve up drinking...then what do you need to work for???

I usually get anywhere from 3-4 PC's a week brought to my house and being a non smoker ......some have been so bad that I have to work on them in my garage. I have a finished basement where my office resides ........and i have literally smelled up my whole house with tarred up pc's .
Everyone needs to remember ....PC's are almost like little vacuum cleaners .....they suck up alot of crap .

Those pix are nothing. Back in the day, I was working at a PC store. Someone brought in their PC for some work. Opened it - and couldn't even read the silkscreen on the motherboard or the components. Thick, sticky, stinky, yellow-brown nastiness probably 1mm thick like a blanket all over everything. Almost made me puke. I may have gotten a nicotine contact high though... :D

Haha yes I found some incriminating text messages on her cell phone when it started vibrating as I was leaving for work one morning. Took her phone with me to work so I could look through it. Saw a bunch of stuff I didn't want to see. Needless to say she was gone by the time I got home. Took the dog but left the cats. Took the new(er) Ford Escape Hybrid, but also the car payments (and left my Harley). I miss the car but not the payments. I miss the Dog but not her so much... ESPECIALLY after I got a bogus restaining order a few weeks later LOL.
I found references in my credit report for Florida and Milwaukee but can not find her current location. Her family doesn't even know where she is (and were totally on my side so I don't think they would just say that, but anything is possible). In the meantime I have filed separation and if I have to file divorce by public notice I'll do it, but for now I'll wait and see if she pays for it. I don't think I'll run into too many hassles considering she has to have little or no money and I still have her phone (and text messages) and also emails... among other stuff from at least two other men with certain kinds of 'details'.
I will say though.. the restraining order was exactly what I needed to get past the situation. The bogus claims she made to get it filed and what she did in the first place... well it brought closure to the situation much faster than I would think could be considered 'normal' for something like this.
I probably do need to get going on a divorce, but the way I see it, if I'm going to have to pay for it, I'll make sure she ends up paying for it.

Well my dad found out smoking is bad for his computer.
He turned it on the other day and the first thing that happened was "crackkle pop snap" poof. There was smoke... Power supply mb and vid card all at once... Well needless to say it became a target for him to test if his pistol still would fire.. Well it is now a swiss comp... Anyone waanna buy it???

Yeah I smoke a lot next to my PC, but I have a side window on mine so it helps me to see when it needs a cleaning, I try to open it up and clean the inside out at least once a month, the outside I clean all the time, mostly around the fans of which I have 5 & any other vent holes.
