well done by ending the arena capping and in the ww1 arena. i was really close to cancelling my subscription

From what I've read the arena capping will come back once the "newness" wears off in the WWI arena.
-
I cant help notice HTC said they do caps for game play, yet with caps i see a lot of complaints and without caps i have not seen one.

That's because it's been stated that the caps will return. I for one generally prefer the MA's with the caps in place. If they were gone for good I may be voicing my opinion a little more loudly.

You got to be one of the only people i ever seen for caps.Doing a search on arena caps to see how many pros i can find for it,i cant really find anyone for it, as it is.

It's all relative to map size. 200 players on a large map is a terrible thing for trying to actually find a fight. But the same 200 on a small map can be a lot of fun.
I really hate caps on the large maps, but don't really have a problem with them when the map is a smaller one.

We don't have to argue for something that's already in place.
The only argument is by those that don't like it.
Besides, Hitech is the only vote that counts. He's stated why it's in place and being that you folks that don't like it force your way into arenas that are full anyway instead of going where you're supposed to go just makes things worse because doing that makes the process of balancing the arena populations take that much longer to accomplish.

Maybe it depends on who is doing the complaining

I forgot I wasn't allowed to fly with squaddies. Sorry Mr Blooz.

I don't care what you think. You wrote you couldn't find any argument FOR split arenas. Since the arenas ARE split there's no reason to argue FOR it. I was just stating fact. I'm sorry it offends you so.
Edit: I went to the trouble of finding Hitechs post on the reason the LW arenas are split. If you'd care to remind yourselves or for the newer players that don't know, it's Reply #372 June 15, 2009. It was a banner thread. 32 pages of unforgettable diatribe and one PNG.

unfortunatly, LWO (where the fights are most of the time it seems) only runs large maps, Trinity and Compello mostly (wtf?), and is often full with LWB at 150-200 compared to LWO's 250-300. I say screw linking the arenas (if LWB is around 3/4's full, LWO's cap is raised and vise-versa) and have the cap based only on map size (can't have a good fight with 150 in Trinity and Compello)

Just keep that in mind when the caps return...could be as soon as 2 weeks. :D

No it has nothing to do with the numbers of people in an arena, it has to do with the style of play of those people.
When the large maps first came out you could find battles all over the map, all along the fronts. Each squad would try and grab a base, and opposing squads would defend them. 7 vs 10 and such were the norm.
Todays squads are "clans" and have nothing to do with being a "squad" Most just join up because they like the name, or want to be one of the "crowd".
Squads use to work as groups using tactics and strategies to execute missions. Squads use to recruit to have a few good fighter jocks, a few good buff pilots and a few good GVers, rounding out the rest as fillers/trainees. They worked on approach vectors, were to drop what size bomb to get the most out of each bomb. They practiced these plans and attacks, as well as figuring out how to counter them should someone else use the plans against them.
Picture it like a football game. Plans were made and executed. Opponents were IDed and weaknesses were exploited. Today one team comes ready to play, the other brings three times the number of players, doesn't make a plan, doesn't care who the other team is or what their weakness are, they just roll over it with pure numbers throwing away "bodies" in the name of the quick "win".
Old days on a big map was 10 decent little fights going on across the fronts, today its just a single battle full of nothing but HOin, pickin, and hording.
-
Besides, people won't complain about the the lack of caps directly - they would complain about the other negative game play aspects that the caps were introduced to mitigate.

Fugitive is right, the only difference between most squads and a hoard on the same vox is you don't see "of *squads name*" when you land in as parto of a hoard. Squads have devolved from teams, through missions, and on to hoards.

I don't see why 10-15 squaddies should have to change arena because of me, and reduce their enjoyment by moving to a probably already unbalanced and under-populated arena. We don't change sides to avoid the potential to shoot (or in my case most likely be shot down) down squaddies accidentally.
I've turned up for Squad "Nights" (which are in the middle of the day for me and require some organisation on my part) to find that the arena cap for the arena they are in never drops below a level required for me to get in. This usually relates to the busiest weekend period.
I'm tired of the pat answers supporting arena caps which don't work and prevent friends from hanging out in the cartoon skies together.
