Title: LA-5F skins?
Post by: kilo2 on March 22, 2010, 09:43:25 AM
I don't know if any one has noticed but we have a LA-5F skin for the LA-5FN. If I were to skin a LA-5F would it be accepted?

Kilo: It is possible that HTC accepted an LA5F skin on an LA-5FN because they have no interest in adding the -5F model and the 2 are similar. Sometimes you find crossover where HTC allows certain leeway with skins and what planes they belonged to. It really depends.

I have not done any Lavochkin skins myself, so I can't say for sure. I would suggest that Greebo is the guy to ask, since he's done all the LA-5 skins we have so far. He would know best which of his skins were La-5F and which were La-5FN, and whether HTC allows that kind of crossover.

The green skin is a LA-5F for sure. I haven't checked the others. I did notice on the skin the things that needed to be changed to "make it" a F model were changed.

Yes, you can skin an La-5F scheme onto the La-5FN shape. I asked if it would be OK before doing it. There is very little difference between the two in shape, just the exhaust and air inlet shape. The different panelling etc. can be added to the skin texture.

BTW La-5 skins are not allowed.
