So, over spring break, our homework assignment for Calculus was...
... to make a music video. About calc. Seriously. Our teachers inspiration being the "What you know about math" video on youtube. So, with only about 12 hours in which my group could meet to write and film all of this, here is what we came up with (Because it's a school project, it IS safe for work) (Also, in order to understand some of the humor, I look exactly like my teacher, and he wears wacky ties every day. I don't own a wacky tie :( ):

haha, that was pretty good. :aok
I hope you actually know how to calculate derivatives and integrals and not just sing about them. :lol
It was just 5 years ago I was in High School but we never would have had a video assignment like this.

This video is not yet processed.
For me.

I got that too but it still played, just not high quality I suppose.

I do. Im doing better in Calc than I have ever done in math :)
My teacher happens to a be a really cool (and young) guy.

Pretty good... :aok

That was pretty good for having to make it about Calculus. :aok

Needs some more F bombs.

I wish, lol. I would have LOVED to have one of the girls say "Calc mother..."

Looks like Serenity has got more bumper than a body shop
:rock
Laughed my bellybutton off. :aok
Gotta do one for discrete mathematics, next :noid

nice video, great work for only 12 hours time.
keep it up kid! :aok :aok :aok

Nice job!!

Well done Rey! Very good indeed...

What a waste of time. How did that teach you calculus? I always hated time wasting assignments like that.
Don't get me wrong, the video was good and well-done; the fact that you had to do it for calculus is what is ridiculous imo.

Not a bad assignment but I gotta agree with Sunbat about the time wasting assignment point. If it was for something else that would be one thing.
Overall it was a funny video and it was cool to show the different things going on. Way back when I was in school they never even offered Calculus or Trig; if you wanted to take those then you had to go to the local Junior College to do it. Great thing I realized the pinnacle of my math experience in Geometry and Algebra 2 in high school. Then Economics and statistical equations for transport of all kinds of stuff in my pursuit of an exercise physiology/kinesiology degree in college.

Thanks for all the positive feedback folks! It's much appreciated!

I think his reasoning is this:
This particular project is usually done at the end of the year as a kind of winding-down process, but due to furloughs and rescheduling, our year ends a couple days after the AP exams. So, we would not have time for it. Rather than drop it entirely, he scheduled it for spring break, so we would still be thinking and working over the break, but could a get a small reprieve from actual HARD work, lol

Yea I can buy that. I remember back in the day when I took AP calc in high school. In NY the school year doesn't close until the third or sometimes fourth week in June. However, AP exam were at the end of May. We therefore had a Euchre tournament for most of the month of June. Can't really blame the teacher either. What else are you going to do with a bunch of seniors who have virtually no reason to still be attending your class...
