Here's where I've got to with my 3 RNAS Sopwith Camel. The Royal Naval Air Service allowed a lot more latitude with paint schemes than the RFC. With 3 RNAS this aircraft was flown by Lt Breadner as well as Lt Mackay who scored 3 kills in it. Later it was transferred to 8 RNAS and then 213 Sqn where it got one more victory at the hands of Lt Mackay.
The Camel is a bit of a pain to skin due to the texture compression that AH uses. It does not like the RFC olive drab type colour at all and turns dark shaded areas bright green and light shaded areas red. It also loses any subtlety in the shading, you get a blotchy effect which looks awful. This makes it very hard to do any decent 3D effects on the skin. I'd like to be able make the ribs on the wing stand out a bit more, but this colour problem makes the skin look weird if I do that, particularly when viewed from the cockpit.

It was a 50/50 chance actually. :) I spent a few minutes offline trying to get either of the German drones to catch on fire but I kept on killing the pilot first which forces it to respawn. In the end I side-slipped to get some bullets into the side of the fuel tank with a deflection shot.
Just realised I forgot to enable self shadowing for the screenshots though, which is annoying. :furious
Reskinning the propeller was pretty easy really, Paint Shop Pro has a nice wood texture effect that worked well on it. I've decided to redo the damage bitmaps to match this skin and that's proving a bit trickier. Think I know how to do it now though.
