OPSEC was clearly not a priority this time around. Getting met by waves of 152s and, by last count 7 262s - at the very edge of the map, while still climbing - well it was fun.

Yah in 4 months that is the second time we have gone against a strat that is protected by 163 bases...but the odd thing was we were only attacked by 1 163 lol. Only the second time we have been completely shredded by defenders, heh. I hope everyone who comes with us understands that the point of these missions is to have fun and try to have some semblance of emulating a large B-17/bomber formation to defend/attack with. The 7 262's attacking us was a nice touch though. Hopefully next tuesday we will have better luck and attendance. I always appreciate everyone that comes with us thank you for the escort last night wolfala.n <S> Rooks and all squads that fly with us.

What ever happen to these massive rook mission that Delta put together. They where a blast running into a 40-50 bomber formation and 50 or more escorts.

Every time there is 2 sectors of dar, 2-3 sectors away, on a Tuesday night expect JG11 to field 152's :D

ya the dar bar over 75 was spotted instantly. guess u guys didnt notice the fight 3 sectors north of u. everyone knew what it was. forget opsec how about being less predictable and more original. the dumbess marine could have snuffed that one out.

A sudden darbar a few fields away from the frontline is way more interesting to me as a relatively balanced battle in progress, especially when I'm currently sitting in tower and looking where my next sortie will go to. It's promising buffs (which are my main targets since my 2weeks) & high altitude combat (I really dig that). Also it's often a bigger "threat" to the country I'm flying for.
And I'm very curious: "Look there! What might that be? Let's find out!"

As one of the Honored opposition I really enjoy going up against the mass bomber formation. All II.JG27 that are flying each Tue night band together and climb to meet our worthy opponents. It reminds us of the S3 in WarBirds and the large bomber formations during the European Campaigns. It gives you an Idea of what the German Pilots faced during WWII. Kind of hate attacking you though. My Dad was a Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner on a B-17. He never talked about it really other than to say if you were not scared you were either dead or a fool. My hats off to you and oh look what is in my gun sight.
