A WNIT Tournament playoff game was held in Oregon last night between the Lady Ducks of the University of Oregon, and the University of California Golden Bears.
After the opening tip-off, the Bears rushed down the court and quickly made a basket. But the Lady Ducks came roaring right back with a fast break. Blonde 5' 8" Oregon Senior Guard Michaela C O C K S ( #2 ) pulled up just outside the 3 point line, and fired off a shot.
Here below is a photo showing her absolutely amazing form! Doesn't she look awesome?? Check her out.
The ball went swoosh right down the basket, and the Ducks took the lead at 3-2. Here is the photo that I managed to get of her taking this shot:

Sadly, since she is a senior, this was Amanda's last game as a Lady Duck. The Ducks put up a valiant effort, and the game was nip and tuck, up until the final 6 minutes, when the Bears pulled ahead. I will really miss cheering for C O C K S. She has been a great asset to the team.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this may not end well.

He's certainly trying.
I prefer to keep it simple and take it as him instead saying, "hey look, I was at the game."

Two things about the Ducks Photo..
1. That many young girls the last thing I thought about was the actual sport that they play.. But only wish they celebrated at my place after the game.. :x
2. Is that 8 coaches for one girls sports team??
3. Feel tricked into this thread by the title, I'm going back to the Wednesday Babe.

Now that WOULD BE A VICTORY PARTY.
I'd shoot their baskets. Can anyone say, SLAM and DUCK? :devil
THinks; I am going to hell at this rate

No, the soviet team looked saucier than a direct hit on a heinz factory.

Pretty typical really. Head coach and 2 assistants, trainer, couple of student assistants/trainers, and director of operations. I did not go to the Ducks website to check who all is in that picture, but in D1 that is the norm for a VB team.
Myself? I'm partial to IU VB and the player who wears #2 :aok

Women can shoot just as well as men. Applies to firearms and basketball.
In fact, Oregon Duck fan, Katie Gearlds of Purdue beat Aaron Brooks of Oregon in the 3 point shooting contest final in 2007.

Now that that's out of the way, is this girl your girlfriend or something?

Maybe an "only in America" thing. Not typical at my school or club rugby.. Our school first 15 rugby team had one coach. Club rugby 1 coach and 1 assistant coach. Seeing that many for just one VB team is ridiculous especially at that level, almost outnumber the players..

Do you recruit nationally for the rugby team? How much money does rugby generate? Because at many schools, especially in the high majors, women's basketball and volleyball are a net positive revenue generator, and the recruiting is very competitive. All of which justifies having a decent sized coaching staff.
