I'd rather see the G3M type 96 bomber...a lot more useful than a recon plane.

Ki-46-III wasn't a recon plane, but it was also pretty underpowered when it entered service.

I'd say the G4M Type 1 Lighter...er...BOMBER would be far more useful. The G3M would largely only be useful for very early scenarios, whereas the G4M was the mainstay level bomber of the IJN from the beginning of the war to the end.

Not saying I'm opposed to the G4M, but the G4M should be there FIRST.

The Ki-46-III Kai and IV variants of the Dinah was fitted with guns but the type was predominately a strategic reconnaissance aircraft. I'd like to fly one in AH - I've a great respect for photo-recce pilots - but I can't see a use for such a role in the present 'global radar' setup in the MA, and only a very limited one in any scenario that might be flown in the AvA or in a FSO.

Either the Ki-45 or the Ki-46 would be a good choice.

Just how long has the JP planeset been without new additions to its roster?

Ki-84 was the last addition.  N1K2-J was the last Japanese plane to be worked on.
