... if I am not online tonight I have been swallowed by a mini blackhole!

Ahh thanks for the news. I forgot about this place xD

This will produce around half a gigabyte of data every second, or around 15 petabytes (15 million GB) every year, equivalent to filling a standard 100GB hard drive every four minutes
:O

I've been thinking about this thing, and it freaks me out. If they're replicating the conditions that created the universe, aren't they creating mini universes, black holes and I don't know what else. Something just don't seem cool to me. :old:

The miniature black hole scare is funny. You do realize that with the energies involved the mass of the black hole will be similar to a medium size Hydro-carbon molecule? This means it will have negligible gravitational effect on its environment in the typical distances between molecules - high moments of electromagnetic forces dominate all such interactions. The event horizon will be smaller than an atom nucleolus making it a VERY small target for passing by atoms/molecules that normally collide/interact on the distance typical to their electron orbital radii (something like a hundred thousand to a million times larger). In the (really) low chance that something like this happens and it does not evaporate immediately, it will simply fall into the minimum gravitational potential (earth's center) and sit there not being able to accrete more mass and grow. Even if you wait billions of years it will still not accrete enough mass to have any effect.

Naw, they just haven't told us about the massive shockwave leveling the Earth. It'll be here in a few days, tops.

Read this back in the day.. this CERN thing keeps reminding me of it.

The article is in another language, can't read it.

I just hope the Resonance Cascade doesn't happen. :D
