I reinstalled the game and now I only get some sounds. The sounds I do get are external noises such as gvs that are around my airplane but I don't hear any engine sounds, or vox, etc... Its really strange. I looked into the sounds folder and found that there were no sounds in the sounds folder! Is that correct? where are all the sounds? I reinstalled the game because the game started to crash every time I tried to connect to the online servers. No the game doesn't crash, but I have minimal sounds. :(

This was fixed by using the 'creative alchemy' program. Its still kinda fuzzy though :(

Any info scuzzy?

The only time I have ever run into anything close to this wass due to the user not have the speaker configuration correctly set in Windows.
It could also be Vista causing the problem. It could be anti-virus issues. It could be some security program. It could be other sound programs interfering. If you installed all the Creative programs, then all bets are off, as those programs can wreck a computer.
Once installed, you cannot get rid of them without reformatting the hard drive and re-installing the OS. Yes, they are that bad.

Ardy,
How did you "Uninstall AH" before you re-installed it? What did you save? Anything?
Let me know step by step exactly what you did. I'll try to figure it out.
-
Thanks shawk,
1) I went to 'programs' from the control panel and selected Aces High.
2) Then I selected uninstall
3) After the uninstall was finished, I blew away the whole directory from the file system. There were two, I don't remember their names exactly. This was the first time I had to 'reinstall' the game. For the last year and a half, it just auto updated from the various releases.
4) then I downloaded the latest version of the game from the web site
5) then I ran the installer.

the default sounds folder has no sounds in it. but they're there somehow. only time u see the sounds split among the different planes is when u add the custom sounds. I have had this problem too, but it was caused by my sound card having speaker options on, when I was using headphones and my speaker configuration was set to speakers or I was using my speaker but my sound card had speaker configuration set to headphones.
