What's with those rib lines?

Painted on for "looks" (it is a display piece!) or is that supposed to be reinforcing strips over the ribs, with additional canvas added?

is that the MoF in seattle?  the reason I ask is the lighting.  Its like a cave in there.

No Dayton Ohio most likely my little cheap camera I can assure you it is not that dark.
