How much does one of those sleds cost?
And how much is it worth if it sputters and goes in? (Hot engine + cold water = ???$)

I think I'd rather go tip a cow or go fishing.

I'd be interested to know if that was filmed this year, and on what date...  Just curious how close to the ice being out for spring things are up that way...  We have a cabin in Northern Wisconsin, and when the ice goes out dramatically affects when the crappie spawn, and consequently, the when best weeks for crappie fishing happen...  It helps to plan the yearly fishing trip...

Nice MBailey

I grew up in NW WI and still have a cabin near Webb Lake, WI
Crappies are hitting in the very shallows...I'm going out today for a few hours.

West Central WI 3-30-10

Lake of the Woods was filmed 4 years ago in late April with dry suits sealed tanks and of course the rescue heli.  They started out with 4 machines and one guy bailed after a few crossings, one guy hit  ice caught air and when he hit the water got to slow and sank...slow motion sink.  You'll see 3 guys on video, then two...hummm!

Near Iron River, 30 miles or so West of Ashland, on Twin Bear Lake...  Love it up there.

Might try asking on http://lake-link.com/ (http://lake-link.com/) but your best bet is probably just a quick call to one of the local bait shops or resorts.  In La Crosse the ice has been gone for a couple weeks now and it was 82 degrees yesterday so I'm sure it's gotta be gone or close to gone up that way.

If they have a helicopter camera crew I'm sure they aren't too concerned with the financials.  Most likely they are sponsored riders shooting for a DVD.
