Every time I hear of news of trapped or missing miners my heart sinks.
6 Dead, 21 Missing.

Yikes, very sad to hear. I was just through there this weekend, it is only about two hours from me.

Although I feel for the workers and their families during all this, this is why MSHA's regulations are becoming increasingly tighter and tighter, to the point the mining industry will eventually be unable to function in the United States because it simply exsists as a hazardous job, yet we prove it is acceptable to import mined materials and shove the hazardous work ever more on places like China, who just recently experienced a coal mine catastrophe of their own.
Coincidentally enough, MSHA will be on our doorstep at my job this morning.

Luckily, had some friends that worked there that weren't on shift at the time that it happened. Probably be a day or two before they go back down.

They just went back in to find the 4 missing...

tragic news, hope they find some survivors

As bad as it sounds, I don't believe they will, the explosions killed the guys coming out of the mine on the train, also injuring people at entrance. I hope they do, but after this many hours, I doubt it.

Dang....doesnt look good. Maybe best we can hope for is a miracle

They pulled the rescuers out after smoke was down in the mine. They're drilling another whole near the last safety chamber, but the 96 hour window is up at 3:00PM.
